I wouldn't mind paying a flat rate for unlimited GPRS access. Right now my bill stands at around R300/month...should be more this month since I start chatting on Yamigo this month.

Does Yamigo have PTT ?And does it interface with the other major IM programs? How about filesharing ? Do you know/use AgileMessenger ? How does the 2 compare ?

@mario: Yamigo supports MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and ICQ messenger. I'm not to sure what PTT stands for. I don't think it supports file-sharing. Go onto their website for more info.

Had problems logging in through wap so I'm forced to use the web to post.

@Rhino: The settings are on the Yamigo website...all you need is a log-on and your password( you can change by editing your account).

@Brix Thanks for adding me. People am I missing a point here ? Why you battle with Yamigo and down-servers? Use AgileMessenger and log directly to the IM service you want to use ! I do that and works super for the past 2y :-)

@mario: Even though Agile Messenger is a java app I'd hate to use it on my phone when it already comes with a built-in chat client. The interface is also quite simple.

Why cant Vodacom let their pre-paid customers pay a flat rate for gprs internet monthly? Now I decided I'll spend less time on gprs internet because I'm spending too much money on gprs.I'll buy R29 airtime every 7 days now and that will give a total of R126 per month rather than R300 - R400.I used to buy R29 Vodago every 2-3 days!

Well, I thought Agile supports your cell.Yes the java version is a bit arcane compared to the s60 version. But even the java is at least working.I am half Romanian half German and I use to chat a while ago with the Romanian Yamigo developers (one of them). They have quite a few problems too say the least.Yamigo is a server 'locked' chatting program which will be 'down' everytime their server(s) is down.Anyone serious about chatting should register directly to one or more of the major IM programs and use them thru a direct terminal like Agile or Jabber etc. Anyway give me a shout when their server is up 'n running :-)

Vodacom will only come with a flat GPRS bundle when we have good 3G coverage countrywide, that will be in 2 years. If they do it now the 2g network will crash 24 7.The voice and data on a 2g uses time slots(Limited capacity),3g uses codes(Unlimited capacity). The differences are a 2g base station can handle between 20-50 uses @ 1 once and 3g works like a radio station.Everyone listen to the same radio station but there is no congestion..................HSDPA coming to Vodacom by early 2006

Huh buddy, where did you get this info from ? Please, please don't tell me you are a technician or something. What exactly do you mean by 'crashing the network'?Let me ask you honestly - do you know what you are talking about ?
