I'm looking at upgrading to the satio as soon as I can afford it or renew my contract. Should be able to do something in the next few weeks.
In truth I almost like the Samsung HD icon better for one reason only - the touch screen for typing is way more responsive. Satio is a little laggy - you have to really punch the screen to get it to recognise the touch (compared to samsung hd). The samsung is really the best touch sceen i've seen. Better than iphone imo.
However that said the reason I'm inclined to gp with the satio, is for the active lens cover. No other 8MP plus camera phone seems to consider this necessay for a dedicated camera phone but for me it's a pretty major drawcard. Fortunately my only major dislike about the Satio is the unresponsiveness of the touch screen.
The camera is top notch, though can anyone tell me, can the macro be enabled without digging into the menu? I use macro about 10% of the time I'm taking a photo and on the short play I've had on the satio couldn't find a way to turn on macro without going into submenus.
If not, I will have to look closer and both handsets and may go with the Samsung HD.

The Vivaz has it but not on the Satio. You got to go into the menu to activate macro. |

that's a shame. I'm a bit out of date with the forum atm, has anyone modded drivers on s60 for SE as yet? Maybe there is an option there?

Not AFAIK yet. I dont think activating macro is all that difficult, its 3 screen presses. Takes a couple of seconds.
Personally i'd stick with the Satio, or go for a N97 mini. Im not a fan of Samsung phones as nice as they are they're more limited for things like apps.

Post processing algorithm seems to be very similar to W995 rather than C905, especially in dimmer environments. But the major turn off is that it's noise riddled, W.T.F? What the hell is wrong with SE? I'm looking at Satio as replacement for my father's C902 so I'm kinda scrutinizing things on a macro scale right now. I don't have a problem with it in W995 as I was well aware of its shortcomings before I bought it and has since found more or less a workaround but in Satio?? SE keeps falling short of our expectations don't they?

Yeah I'll probably still go with the Satio, well anyway if I go with the samsung it would be for the touch screen not because of the macro issue.
It's actually also three presses on the C905, but the same key, you don't have to move around the screen. Mind you it was one press on the K800 and I learnt to live with it on the C905 so...
RE: Samsung HD and applications, it runs the same OS as the Satio, and in my initial overview it seemed more or less the same interface on both phones? Am I missing something? Are s60 apps not compatible from one manufacturer's iteration of s60 to another? This would be a major bummer. So much for competing with iphone and Android for app availability...
As far a photos go, Satio seems to be better, and the macro shots in this thread are as good as the C905. Also Samsung HD doesn't have proper flash.
