I was wondering, is the speaker still stereo? And about the media interface, is it kinda slow like k850 or w910? Hope it's not too buggy like k850s at their first launch.. :-) Thx |

yeah, ill love it.... loved the w880, seems a good upgrade.
want the w760i though when its out (grey one) better start saving!
All things considered its a Great upgrade. I want the W760i as well. I'll loose the 5MP cam & QVGA vid recording, but I gain GPS.

Silver W890i arrived today. HELP required please guys.
The phone is unlocked but shows O2 theme when switching on. I've inserted my Vodafone pay monthly sim & it's allowed me to do basic set up, but the internet settings are set to O2 pay monthly. How can i change this to allow me to connect to Vodafone Live? I've gone into the set up wizard but can't find anything that seems to let me make changes.
Can I delete all the O2 settings etc.?
Thanks! |

Go into the SE website http://www.sonyericsson.com/c[....]products/wap/w890i?cc=gb&lc=en select Vodafone as your provider & the settings will be sent to you by text message

I'm sure the vodafone-live portal is part of the vodafones fw and can only be accessed on a vodafone branded fone. If this is the case you would need to rebrand your phone from O2 to vodafone.
Search on here for DAVINCI and take a look at davinciteam.com.

Guys thanks for your help.
Tried the SE website route but their sms settings don't do the trick. Called Vodafone but they don't have the configuration settings for the W890 yet. Sent me a pdf file with the 880 settings but the menu structure is different, so no joy on the internet front yet worse luck.
It does work ok for calls and texts so all is not lost & I'm really pleased with the build quality & feel of the handset. The buttons are much easier to use than the 880.
Hopefully i can figure out how to get my Vodafone contract internet connection working & then get rid of the O2 screen saver / default start-up settings etc.
Don't want to go the davinci route just yet as it should be possible to sort it out - fingers crossed. Anyone else know how, just holler! |

Ask them to send you a .pdf with the K850 or W910 settings.
That should work on your W90 as well. |

I got my w890 (Orange) yesterday - this phone is a work of art. The build quality and functionality for a device so small is simply breathtaking.
I've had a good play round with it today and got gmail push email working so my personal emails arrive just like my work ones on my Blackberry.
Well done SE, I almost lost faith. |
