Sorry but the W960 is being touted as exactly that a Multimedia gadget it is certainly not just a phone. Other wise why would they fit all the additional functionality in it.?
Also by the end of the Year for those of us that use SDHC cards we will have 6 & 8gb cards to hot swap as we please. So an N95 or E90 will be able to have as much storage as the user wants with only a couple of cards needed and will easily match and surpass the storage offered by the W960, 8gb is a lot of storage now but won't be by early next Year.

Hmm, I think that anyone ireally bothered about the capacity issue would be unlikley to buy a device with a pre defined capacity.
As for the cards for the N95, I am less than impressed with the fact the N95 turns out NOT to support bigger than 2Gb, so the 4Gb cards were usless to me! just one of a number of reasons mine will be up for sale soon.

Then I was poorly advised by both the Carphone warehouse and MyMemory.co.uk but is still has to go!
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

@Nitro Fan,
You certainly where as the N95 and E90 will support 8gb cards as well as SanDisk have already sent out test cards to various people.
Which is why i know they will both work and be available before the year end so am just waiting to buy an 8gb card. As 10gb of total storage will be more than enough for my needs, hmmm 10gb.

Well I hope others get better service than I clearly did!
But all the storage in the world wont make the N95 the right device for me I am afraid.

That's fair enough i don't think any one is saying it has to be just hope you find a device that is for you.

Ta, the P990i is about as good as it gets for me the R6 fw upgarde pulled it back a bit, but even with its faults its still the best out there.

Why is the wifi only b? If it was g, then it would be something. Can SE include G in a firmware update in the future perhaps? |

it's a hardware, not firmware installation

Actually he has no idea, it could be done with a firmware. |

Do you think SE would include G in a firmware upgrade then? Have they dont similar things in the past with their older models? Can future W960 owners actually anticipate it? |

Hi, sorry, but I'm new to the whole forum thing and decided to register here because of my increasing interest in the W960i. Anyways, I just ran across an article over on cnet were they were talking about Sony's new location free player. In the article they coincidentally mentioned support for the device on a Sony cell, the P990i! Do you think that that software will work on Sony's forth coming W960i?... The article clearly states that the LF-V30 only puts out QVGA quality when transmitted, not unlike a new forthcoming cell phones resolution from Sony that supports "TV quality at 30 frames a second" (mere coincidence? You decide!)! What do you all think? Anyone out there using one of Sony's location free players with the software on their P990i? How's the picture on your cell? I imagine that when the phone's released it'll support the LF-V30 as well, right (since it's being heavily marketed as a multimedia device)? Is it just a matter of re-writing some of the software for compatibilty with the W960i? Whatever the case this just makes me more excited for the w960i. It's like a cherry on the top of an already really yummy looking sunday! I've owned a lot of Sony cells, but never a Symbian powered one, and this all just makes me want to own the w960i all the more!
Here's the url if you want to check out the article for yourself: http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9746422-1.html?tag=cnetfd.mt
Thanks,
Mike |
