I'm sure that there have been a few that completely killed their phone with the remote log client while flashing firmware. Have any of you tried to use the KILLAVR file? Any success? I have been asked this question quite a few times in the past couple of weeks and wanted to know the results.

Thanks!

I actually have killed one phone with KILLAVR file. After this process, have to make a Restore GDFS to restore the IMEI, then to unlock the phone and to re-write the FW to the phone.

The reason I did that because I have tried to edit the AVR file but the EC seesion need to load some security data to the phone but fail and the phone became a dead piece.

Alright guys, here's the deal....I basically have stopped playing looking at my numerous financial contracts (my business by trade), stopped playing with my Porsche 996 Turbos and GT2, stopped cleaning my Ferrari 360 Spyder...just to get some clarity on the T68m/i flashing issues...since I've got one installed in all of my cars...and for the benefits of ease and simplicity, I just bought a bunch of t68m's and upgraded them...I have made mention that I will have Adam at gsmphonesource upgrade a t68m to R5D007 with emma2, and he has done so...this is now a clean flash...completely virgin..no sim cards, nothing...and I've been trying to dump that fw onto my pc...with abso********lutely no luck! The client logs onto the server, checks the user info, confirms the credits and starts to load arm to phone and then asks for file name...after that it goes to about 6-13% before completely dying. It has done this in language mode 6 times and in avr/arm mode 4 times...I've tried 3 different clients spread over 2 different servers...must be a client software problem since the server is only there for the initial credit verification and spot loading a small arm bin file. I have also tried it on 3 different laptops...all completely top of the line equipment with nothing else running at the time. This is about all of the problem solving I can dedicate to this issue, until someone comes up with some clarification on the client software....who wrote this thing?

Now, onto the bluetooth issues of late:

What I have done, on several occasions which have worked is completely re-pair the phone to whatever I am trying to connect to. Especially on the pc...using your bt software, unpair, delete, remove or do whatever is necessary to eliminate any trace of any previous pairings with your phone...this has worked for me, especially on the older phones that have been flashed...as for the battery, all I can say is get a pure virgin dump of the fw you need and use that to flash your phones.

I will continue to try to get this fw to you guys, but until ericssonclient allows me to do so, I don't know what to tell ya.

Good luck!

Thanks virtualdynamix (I will be down your way sometime next week and I will have one of the turbos to play with)..and thanks Adam @gsmphonesource!!! Thanks funks!!!

There's something wrong with flash reading on 6.52.. There is a new version of the client (alfamobil.cz has 6.55) out but dunno if it's available for download from Unlocking or LVWireless.

I ran into the same problems as you did, wasted quite a bit of logs.

Am back from my hols and glad to see that this thread is progressing, especially glad to see the efforts being made to get a good R5D flash dump. Please keep up the good work

mixnplay...you have one of the later t68i releases...hardware being R6B so I would definitely hold off on flashing unless 1) you know for certain that the firmware you are going to use is absolutely clean, or 2) get a fw from me (and that may take a while if you are aware of the previous few posts re. problems with dumping fw from fones using the client software. You are in CA and prob. using AT&T or Cingular right? Maybe TMobile, although I know that TMobile will usually have the latest hardware rev. fones out there (having such a presence in Europe). And you must also ask yourself what it is that you are after with an upgrade? If it is simply just to have the latest, I'd hold off a little longer. I will do everything possible to get a virgin rev. of R5D007 with English/French/Spanish out there for you, and all others, to use. The reason I'm so strong on this issue is that if you get "dirty" fw, you can even see the amount on the joystick counter run all the way up to whatever the user had it before he downloaded the fw.

Having said all of this, you can prob. say screw all that and flash it anyway...and it may still work perfectly. And if you do, try to use the eastern euro version of R5D007, I did, and it is fine, bluetooth and all.

Good luck

av0135,

You can't get any torque steering out of your 996TT.. how are you supposed to make 90 degree turns at 100mph? Alright, there are a few places we can go to where we can have fun with some left foot braking on your turbo.

None of those credits worked for you? Did you use all of them up? Email me the ones you used and failed. If it's the server that's causing the problem, I'll make sure you get credited back for it. If it's because of a drop out of your internet connection, then I cannot do anything about that.

I hope you got the new carbon fibre faceplate for your T68. Now, it will really match your car! Too bad it's not real carbon fibre or else it would be one tough little phone!

virtualdynamix...controlled drift my friend, controlled drift...but I don't know if I would want to do any of that stuff on Cal's streets...even though there are some beautiful negative camber sweeps out there, just great! Left foot braking? With three pedals in the foot well? Try heel-toeing and keep the left on the clutch while manipulating the handbrakes...ha ha ha, sounds fun already!!! Anyways, Sung gave me some credits to try and I also purchased some credits (4 to be precise). I just also purchased 4 more but have not used them yet. Here are the username/pw combos for the ones that simply failed:

vdx050 / 0norr53
vdx054 / 4gass92

There were two others but Sung gave them to me over the fone and I dont remember exactly what they were...sorry...if you can do something for me, it would be simply doing something for these guys on the forum. I'm only using them to try to get a clean firmware dump for them...that's all.

Alright, thanks and can't wait to see you guys!!

Guys,...

As i posted at hwdfrms, u might want to try to back-up and flash using the language flashing method (1-10mb file), instead the arm+avr method, to see if this will solve the problems. I've tried the language flashing method before and it worked just fine...though i was worried like hell to get the flashing done .

So for those of you who has problems anyway, u might want to try this method....

Good luck and let us know the results.

Few weeks ago I tried to solve the Bluetooth problem flashing my T68m with the original firmware, read from the phone using the language feature (10 Mb file). It didn't worked, the Bluetooth failure remains.

My guess is that the logger software have bugs with some processors/motherboards or serial port settings...

I tend to agree with that, port settings-computer configuration might have something to do with flashing issues. When I tried flashing using an AMD 1700+ pc(no brand name), flashing was incredibly slow (over 60 minutes). When using P4 1.7ghz Compaq pc, it took about 10 minutes. (same cable, same client, same server).
