That is very strange, Blade Runner! My w810i charge in both modes and my firmware is R4EA031.

My W800 got wet so I need a new phone. Used FAR to remove the hissing noise from my W800…

I'm using R4EA031 and don't have any hissing at all. I have put the thing through every test, and even given it to my friends to listen for and noone can hear any hiss.
So no... I don't. |

Hello to everyone!
I had a problem updating to the newer software some time ago. The problem was that I had stucked with the FW R4CE012, it was impossible to update to the latest FW at that time - the R4DB..
Now, when the R4EA came out, I tried again - and finally mnaged to update to the latest - R4EA FW without any trouble.
My observations - hardly any difference in every aspect, compared to R4CE.. I hoped the earphone's speaker volume would be increased, but no, the volume level is the same as before. As mny have noticed - there is hardly any difference between 'bass' and 'mega bass' presets.. I listen only to the mp3s, so there is no problems with playback so far..
It seems that the phone has become a bit faster, but not significally. It will be a bit diffucult to explain this, but one thing I have noticed - the menu animation or transition has been disabled in some 'places'.. for example - when 'file manager' is opened, you see such folders like 'Pictures', 'Videos' and others and when you navigate through the items, the highlited line kind of slides from one item to another.. but when you go further, e.g. open a 'Sounds' folder, the sliding animation is gone. the highlited line just jumps from one folder to another.. The same problem is with the 'contacts' - the animation is gone.. Try this on your w810 and let me know if you have the same problem.. Maybe this is done to increase the browsing speed in contacts and file manager folders, don't know.. Everywhere else the navigation is still 'sliding'..
About the battery performance - haven't had time yet to test this, but as far it doesnt seem to be improved.. |

I have the same issue with the sliding menu and I'm still on R4DB005. I only have the sliding highlight on the Main Menu and the top level of the File Manager, everything else is just a "jump" not a "slide".
Personally though, I don't really care. Sure I like the slide better aesthetically, but the jump is marginally quicker and I guess I prefer the speed as I am only using their interface to view MY DATA (photos, audio, contacts etc.) and not for their animations. |

Must correct this one, everything is OK, I was testing on a PC without installed W810i modem driver, once installed phone charges in all modes.

@Kristoffer neither mine (W810) does, but some people around here complain of hissing on theirs. i dunno if those're naysayers jumping on the omfg the w800 hissed and now the w810 hisses too omfg the w810 sucks FAR cant support it omfg bandwagon; i have yet to personally come across a W810 that hisses. so there, some warning
@Rob-D it's always been like that since R4CE. I crudely recall my W600 doing the same thing-animations in places and none in others

@axilom. Had the hissing on my w800 but had it removed with FAR. Just gonna hope I get a w810 with no hiss – think it is a nice phone. To bad that FAR doesn’t support the w810. Thanks any way |

I'm having the camera problem. A month ago I was taking pics, no problem. I was on the phone with them and they had me try everything, nothing worked so I had to send the phone in for service. Before I sent it in, I did a master reset all and lost my themes (expect for the walkman one). When I sent it in, I believe they reflashed it and from what the work order said, they replaced some part. Now, it doesn't take any pictures. Let me explain. When I go into the camera app, either though the menu or click and hold the shutter button and try to take a pic, it says "saving" for about a half a second and then bumps me out to the main menu or standby mode. No matter what settings I change (phone memory or Memory stick) it still fails. The odd thing is that when I change to panoramic or frames, it does take the picture fine. Also, video works fine. Again, I tried to reset (user) as some people that worked for them, but no go. I also tried to reset all which didn't work either. Now I lost my themes which I'm not happy about. I am a US customer with a unbranded SE W810i running software ver: CXC1250317 and FW: R4EA031. Thoughts? |

At times I get warning beeps to end call when other party hangs up.
Also when activating camera, the camera buton flashes for about 5 seconds.
Are theses bugs? Or is this normal?

Hey I just tried using SEUS to update my firmware and now my phone will not turn on... all it does at one time was blink/flash a white screen.... is it broke already? I followed the onscreen instructions turn off, removed sim, reinsert batt, press and hold C then insert usb cable... everything went find up until it detected W810i APAC then it tried downloading the files then it stated "do not touch the phone" then it would stop and comeback to the first screen on SEUS |
