The phone will be £400 ex VAT when it is released around the 8th (maybe maybe not)
So we will see what waves it causes.

Hi
I have just visited Sony office here in India and discussed about this handset's delay in launch. having friends in the SE office I have got a
true and correct picture on the P990i.
I believe SE has more than 1 million handsets in order and they are low in production.Th4 thay are not able to cope up with the enthusatic response from users and launching the handsets in phases through out the world.
their first place of launch has been in France. So other countries follow in phases. Some may have got it too.
In India it is being launched on 15th Sept 2006 at the official price of USD 777 approx which is Rupees 35,000.
I also discussed about many users complaining about the software /bugs.
I was told that the handset is being customised as per requirement of each continent and some early sets may have had bugs.
So its clear that the more the delay a better improved set one may get with all bugs [perhaps] removed.
I am waiting for my set too and most probably will buy once it is officially launched in Mid Sept 2006 |

This level of orders will make the P990 more popular than the P910
