I'd rather have a fat 5" phone that won't bend in my pocket with big battery and xenon flash - I honestly don't understand this need for a thin phone while sacrificing functionality and durability

A 4.3" screen on a mini Z2 with both led & xenon flash would do for me, until then ill keep the money in my pocket.

Thin phones just feel to flimsy to me.

Doesn't seem like a "too close to call case" from what I'm reading (for daylight).

I much rather see pictures than read what someone has to say.. we don't even know if the same person wrote those two separate articles on gsmarena.

As it currently stands on gsmarena's studio shots, the 1520 is better... but like I said I wouldn't make final judgment until someone does a proper test.

My own assessment from pics that I've seen so far is that they are very close.

Don't forget that the 1520 supports RAW and you can get a much better result from what the onboard processing is feeding you.

As I've said earlier, the Bokeh camera app didn't make it to the final software (icon on the leftmost)

That was from the post on XBlog regarding the Honami system dump leak. Wonder why it didn't make it to the final Xperia camera app software

So you're saying the Xperia Z/Z1 bends in your pocket? Dude you new to lay off mixing Steroids & Viagra at the same time lol, j/k

In all honesty durability was Long ago solved using metal frames or bodies with hardened or tempered glass. Creaking will happen with plastic cheap shells. Larger 5" screens allow for large batteries but the OS, not just the Linux kernel in Android needs an overhaul along with recoding for the apps. android by far consumes a LOT of power even though quad core CPU and now multi 8 cores have come onto the scene with smaller CPU lithography process - not much power consumption advances have come in 2013. Case in point is the NOTE3, great CPU, long battery life but due to significantly later battery than the 2 had and not due I the cup used. Surely youe all seen this across the board in Android phones in 2013??

2014 you'll see 2800mAh as a bare minimum for 4.5" or larger Androis phones with 3300mAh being the common denominator.

would have been nice to see how the bokeh camera would have worked and the effect it would have had on photos and if it would look any good. any have any photos of the app and how it worked?

i would guess the bokeh effect would be the same as their soft background option on their cameras. basically keeps what/whoever you focus on in focus and then just blurs everything else around it slightly.. regardless of focal depth. it's a gimmicky feature, i think. we can get pretty good, natural bokeh effect in many photos already.
