Does anyone know if the double tab to wake feature on the Tablet Z is a hardware or software feature, would love this on my Z1 if possible

From what I've read on xda I believe it is software but it's down to the kernel so don't would need to give us a new kernel to make use of this feature

there was a 2nd update that was certified for the 4.3 update for Z1 and ZU. I would imagine the 1st rollout of updates got halted in favor of the 2nd one getting prepared.
At least, every time there's a quick 2nd update of a major one, I only ever get the 2nd update and never the original one.
LOL @Tsepz - who cares. go back to your samsung thread.

Win or Lose, I enjoy my Z1 better than how people enjoy their L1520.
Your statement is a load of nonsense, if someone likes WP and Nokia then they will enjoy their Lumia1520 as much as you enjoy your Z1 due to it being an Android and Sony, if someone likes Apple, and doesn't mind what the iPhone lacks then they will enjoy their iPhone5S etc... It's all relative. I'm sure there are many people who are just as satisfied with their Nokia Asha low end 'dumb'phone as you are with your Z1, as for them their phone offers what they want and need. Enjoyment is down to what you need to enjoy something.
In the end its just a poll on a mobile site, majority of people who vote haven't even used or owned most of the phones and just vote for their favourite brand, it's meaningless really, don't take it so personally. Out there somewhere is another poll where the Z1 has crushed the Lumia1520 and vice versa.
LOL
the one taking it "so personally" is really you
He was just saying that he is reallyreallyreallyreally enjoing his Z1...! |

Unless you're some sort of owner of this website or admin rather just keep it moving if you don't like what I post.

Me? Nope. I find the whole thing quite funny
He could have just said he's enjoying his Z1 instead of making a BS statement and taking some random poll seriously.

Indeed, he could have expressed it in a better way.

I believe the 290 update was 7-8 days between being certified and then out to users for updating, wonder if this trend will follow for the new 114 update which was certified on the 23rd.
Would be nice if it came on the 1st of January but perhaps it will arrive at the same time as CES and the Z1 mini and it's new firmware? |

I never understand why Sony always seem to release updates for unbranded phones towards the end of the new firmware release runs. Surely they dont have to get approval from the networks so it should be first.

If someone exalt Sony almost immediately those who are against, no matter why, will appear to disagree or complain...
The funny thing is the same kind of behavior being criticized on other brands related topics.
Really coherent.

I'm just guessing but isn't it something to do with the majority of phones being carrier/branded phones and the minority being unlocked? So they may want the majority to get the update quickly, so they give the carriers the update, fix bugs etc...and then begin the roll-out, also to avoid servers being clogged up. Just guessing though.
