Check the link given by xenia on the previous page, Our fellow kabayan reviewed a sample model of it
@Bono, I see, thanks anyway!

That link provided above gave us some tasty daylight samples from that camera
And just as I expected again, uncorrected luminance noise which is not exactly annoying, but for those who want zero grains, this will be quite distracting

I love how it renders the colors, so natural and the sky appears deep blue as if was taken with a camera equipped with a circular polarizer
then this, another impressive quality photo

tasty details, the detail on the foiliage is high

In this picture it seems that the camera lens have been smudged or something, as it shows up as blurry streaks on the left side of the frame, though it wasn't visible with the previous sample, but then again an awesome looking photo
this one below shows the DR of the Z1 camera, it handles the bright highlights on the cloud pretty well for smartphone camera.

20MP worth of details, it shows up pretty well on the leaves of the tree
last but not the least is this one

lens quality is truly impressive!, color fringing almost kept minimum and same goes with clipped highlights.
will edit this post later to show some 100% crops

admittedly, the 1020's photos are still more detailed but the z1 is already better than all other flagships in terms of captured detail. i'm just worried about the low light shots. they're still too dark. |

^^ true, the JPEG processing on the 1020 is still better but I want to see how these two phones handle highlight clipping and lens fringing. as from the previous page, I saw Z1 beating the 1020 on it,
I may be wrong though as we don't the exact setting on which those two images were taken.
the Luminance noise is the only issue which I hope would be corrected with a little bit of NR.
impressive detail on this foliage

@Bonovox, that screen looks a lot better than the ones seen at the IFA presentation and booths....How are the viewing angles, compared to the links that Xenia posted?
The link Xenia posted which went to Android Next, showed that there was ridiculous colour-shifting at oblique angles, where what looked like maroon from head-on, turned green and then back to pink as the person tilted it. There was also significant contrast loss, when compared to the display on the LG G2, which looked exactly the same at all angles.
I certainly hope that those are only prototype issues at IFA. It would be horrendously irritating if Sony tried doing some cost-cutting on their own flagship, and put out a sub-par screen again (being better than the Z alone is not good enough, it needs to be as good as the competition when viewing angles are concerned and it needs to be better than the rest when colour temp, colour saturation and greyscale calibration). It would also be annoying if certain markets got the best displays, while others got poor ones.... |

Worst incidences of chromatic abberration
The frame on the end portion exhibited the worst color fringing issue among them, but you would always have to shoot with that angle before the problem shows up. and it's fixable with our current photo editing programs like PS lightroom and etc besides I think this is a sensor limitation(being terribly small compared to the big ass ones from ILC/DSLRs) rather than lens'

Viewing angles were ok to me I should have taken more shots but store was crowded

The latest samples were excellent
I downsized one of the Z1 samples to 8 mp, and in my opinion it is equal or even better than some 1020 daylight shots, if we look at a 100% 20mp Z1 crop versus the 100% 8mp crop of 1020, it will appear the 1020 is better, but if we put them in equal footing, meaning downsizing Z1's size to 8mp, I'd say it equals or beats the 1020 output in daylight. (anyway this is my opinion, wouldn't want to start flame wars again I wouldn't mind being proved wrong though )
Luminance noise is pretty much gone once Z1's 20mp is downsized to 8mp.
BTW about the screen review differences, I think culprit for that is the brightness, setting the brightness too high might be the reason why some screen looks washed out, mainly because it's too bright. Setting it properly should eliminate that problem easily.
@Bonovox
Thanks for sharing pics mate

The screen looked good to me and I am fussy. Generally I like Sony displays for their more natural colours and non pentile screens too. And it seemed fluid in operation.
