My c901 came in today, and I got it a bargain price. So here are my observations:
It's tiny compared to my c905, the buttons are spaced different so I have been trying to get used to it.
The plastic is a stepdown from the c905, c902 or k800, very reminiscent of the k770i, a bit better then the k550.
So in conclusion, this phone is winner, it's rock solid and the price is right, to me it is the followup to the k800i/k770i, much better then the k850 or c902.

Hi, I'm new here at this forum.
I'm thinking of replacing my Nokia E51 mainly because of the very poor camera..otherwise the E51 is excelent!!
I've had SE phones (K500 and K610i) earlier, and I think they're OK. But since I tried S60 Nokia I think that's a lot more useful...so now I am i doubt on what to buy. The S60 phones with great cameras (like N85, N86) are too expensive for me, and I don't like slides anyway...and N82 is ugly as hell.. So the only Nokias I feel I have to choose from now is 6720 Classic, E52 and 6700 Classic. All missing a real flash...and the E52 only has a fixed focus 3,2mp. The 6700 is S40, but thats ok for me, since it reminds of S60 a bit..
So then I thought of C901...it's quite cheap, so I'm concerned about the quality?? I think SE have very "plastic" phones...feels cheap. And keypads are a bit too small. How are the keys on C901?? On the pics it looks as if they're "sunk in"?? Or are they flat? I write a lot of text so it's important to me... Can someone maybe take a good pic of the keypad and post here?? In an angle so I see how they look like?! I don't have a store near by, so I can't try it now.
If you've ever had a E51 in your hand you'll understand why I'm concerned about build quality..

There are custom files on TopSony.
I am willing to try to put this FW on a K850. I don't think it will work but you'll never know. How about SE tool 3? Never used or had that before.

@armen: the keys are not sunk in, they are curved outwards. |

I've found the c901 takes blurry indoor pics far more pervasively then the c905. You cannot force flash which is the real problem on all SE cybershots. The c905 enables flash at a different light threshold then the c901, this is something that should be addressed in a firmware update. |

Lower the resolution to 3mp then problem 'bout bluriness will be solved. And so I thought that C901 has 3mp effectivity. My setting is on 3mp (for now) |

huh what do you mean by this - it has more tendancy to not use the flash at all, or that the images without flash are more blurry? |

I mean I am taking an indoor pic and instead of engaging flash the c901 sets it at 200 iso and 1/13th second, or iso 160 and 1/20, both of which guarantee a blurry shot. Anything under 1/60th should force the flash, if they fix that the phone will be perfect.
@titus, lowering the resolution won't fix a thing, why would you set it to 3mp?

Earlier in this thread I said I wasn't interested in the phone. I take it back Anyone care to share with me what are the accessories supplied with the C901 because I'm seriously considering getting one but I can't seem to find any comprehensive reviews of the phone. I pretty much know it's an excellent shooter but I need to know what comes with it. TIA

It's made of plastic, but it is robust. And it is basically just a phone and not an entertainment system...boring? |

Yep...boring..limited... You can't do things with it that you can do with a S60 phone. And I realized that I prefer to be able to do all those things instead of just having a great camera and nothing else...
And I also didn't enjoy the cramped keypad.. and the "lines" on the lens protector made the back of the phone feel slippery..in a way. So thats why I chose a more solid part-metal built Nokia instead.
