Yes the c series has a problem updating whitebalance its to do with the firmware not the camdriver, the way to get round it is make use of the daylight & cloudy whitebalances, if the sun is shinning select daylight, if its not select cloudy but be careful with cloudy wb it can sometimes add to much yellow, other ways round it is to use photodj or fire the flash.
I think the idea of the removeal of the colour is to stop the night pics becoming over saturated like my k800 would do, it appears as per usual se screwed it up and its affected the whole whitebalance day & night. Il up some pics to demostrate this if you want.

Marty, that first picture on the leafs is really great wonderful colors & good sharpness
(you should upload such great picture in 1024 x 768 via Imageshack or Tinypic...it make the photo more beatiful & its easier to see all lovely details)
(the million dollar question is, why they other dont have that great look). have you played with all settings when you shoot whole trees and stuff ???

Thanks
I just took these on Auto, with slight adjustments to the EV, and I usually take some photos with Auto Focus and then with Infinite, as Infinite focus has given some great results on a few pics.

Yes well we did have some foggy weather here in Sweden today som that's why those shots are murky. But i agree that there should be a new firmware release with better cam.drivers! I'm convinced that there are great potiential in this camera! It just needs to be tweaked a bit!
AND up till now, "smart contrast" is a joke!!

havn't taken some of these with my c905, but they are of my c905, the ones taken with the c905 are the ones of the sony a200, here's a few previews, please bother to click the link, some are actually:
sorry for hosting them somewhere else, esato is so slow and long winded compared to picasa automatically doing it for me
