Would anyone know if this new firmware version is already available for NL (Dutch) devices? It has now been more than two months since the generic version has bees released and still no word...

Why not just switch to Generic World?
IMO it doesn't make sense to have to always wait for SE. You'll end up waiting for months each time a new FW is out |

GEwoon doen!!!
Oeps. sorry,, this was in Dutch..
I told Roost that today I received an email from the SE helpdesk and they told me that they do not have a releasedate yet of the new firmware for the Netherlands. So I told him that I used XS++ to flash my NL handset to GW1 and I I do not regret it... Just DO IT!!

Weet je ik durf het gewoon niet aan! Zo bang dat het mis gaat. Ik vind het nog veel te compex...
You know, don't think I have got the guts to do so. Imagine what can go wrong. Still too complicated...

When I got my P1 from Hong Kong, I did the XS++ hack and changed the CDA to WG1 and was able to update. It seems you guys have a more recent firmware? Is there another CDA I should've changed to? Cause I seem to still have the older firmware as seen below:

@JAGUY85: It's the most recent... I have exactly the same (also r6F38 at CDA) |

Okay, ik probeer het. Kun jij een link naar de download voor XS++ plaatsen en waar vind ik te (laatste) tutorial?

You can find XS++ here: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=16338

@krispy,
Need I flash the firmware or is it okay if I only customize the file system? In other words: in the tutorial, can I only do BACKING UP GDFS and then CUSTOMIZING YOUR PHONE?
In between is a description about FLASHING FIRMWARE. But that is not necessary I suppose. If it is, then what is the difference between FLASH MAIN FIRMWARE and FLASH FILE SYSTEM and how on earth do you extract (as indicated by the tutorial). Thanks I appreciate your help. Zeer op prijs gesteld...

@Roost:
I think backing up the GDFS is more than enough. I made a full back up of the entire phone using the SE-application first and then backed up the GDFS before changing it. That way you can always go back to how your phone was (by returning the gdfs and restoring the backup).
I don't think you need to do more than that. |
