Just a wild guess. Have you entered the appropriate DNS settings for your MAXIS GPRS? Refer the palmx website for it.

Hope it helps.

@San
Theoritically, changing DNS does not affect the charges. Still free

@To all
I have one question for all you hardcore GPRS users. Isn't getting online through GPRS expensive? I finally got my iPAQ + GPRS (DiGi) working, by getting online in MSN (not even ONE message sent/received), data rate already hit 120KB = RM1.20! How could that be? All the while I thought getting online, downloading mails are cheap. Just now tried receive 2 mails which are less than 2k, RM4 spent for GPRS

DNS is not in any way related to charges. It is for your computer to resolve address from what you type, say www.esato.com to a real internet address (IP address) which is 81.27.33.7

MSN or ICQ for that matter would need to connect to the ICQ/MSN server which would require some data transfer. For ICQ it needs to download/check your entire contact list every time you connect to the server.

I think there is some data transfered to let the server know you are still online.

To the first question:
- Dei, morning is no problem, say 10am?

To second question (long version):
- If you already have GPRS hooked in, you can use any DNS server to query and the server would respond like any other query. In network terms, DNS is layer-4 and GPRS is layer-2. The billing works in layer-2, so if your GPRS is free, using any DNS won't costs you a bit.

To second question (short version):
- It's free!
