Hi I'm new with Esato as recommended by one of the P800 Phil User's Group. Actually I had a small "confrontation" with Semicon-Cebu personnel regarding phone upgrade yesterday and was referred here to post the situation.
I don't want to describe everything in details, but below are the summaries:
1. Semicon won't upgrade my cellphone because:
- i don't have a receipt to prove its under warranty from Globe. I got my P800 from Globe for Good promo and Globe sent it to me through FedEx, so how can I have an OR or DR?
- there is no Globe sticker at the inside-back of the P800. Globe only place the sticker on the battery and the cover.
- The phone says "Made in France", Semicon claims that phones distributed in Philippines are suppose to be "Made by Ericsson" (maybe sanay na sila sa Made by Nokia) and is a grey phone
2. Semicon says that if there is no DR, at least there is an MSA, I presumed this is the service agreement, well, I had been with Globe for more than 4 years, so showing MSA would only say that the P800 is 4 years old which is impossible.
3. Semicon say that their latest firmware is R2D, but I read from other groups that its suppose to be R2F.
Nope, I'm not making any complaints here even if my phone was upgraded after 6 hours. Thanks to Globe (called from 211) that they were able to fax to Semicon a simple order slip of my P800 and solves all the "doubts" above. Also, thanks to smiling Ms. Michele of Semicon that cools me down despite of all the confusions.

@wasal: sir semicon and other se service points usually require a proof of purchase/ o. r. for warranty phones even there's no globe sticker on the phone usually imei or serial is indicated at the o.r. that's one reason why we require an o.r.. P800 units released here are all made in france. Lately our latest fw available if r2f from r2d sir. Tnx.
One more thing batt, charger etc except the holster and stylus are also covered with 6 months warranty if found deffective will be replaced by se through semicon will also require proof of purchase. |

Hello! i have problemo with my Sony Ericsson P800. I like to know what is the default Device Lock code for my P800? Coz whenever i try to change it using 1234 as a default code, it says code incorrect. And one more thing, why is it last night while im using my phone to take pics, an animated alert sign (Exclamation point inside a triangle) suddenly appears on the screen alerting me that something is wrong with the power button or whatever... i pressed the power button to see if i can remove it and restart the phone but nothing has happened.( in short it hangs) it left me with no choice but to remove the battery and restart it again. hope you guys can help me. by the way, i bought my P800 at Semicon Sm manila. Thank you... :)
