Well, its official! MTN GPRS trial period is over!! Just got an SMS from 0803 saying so. Watch out, cos any moment from now your airtime starts disappearing "properly" and officially :-D

MTN just credited my account with N100 free airtime, God knows I've hardly recharged that line since They took my N760.
I haven't received the official SMS from 0803 indicating the end of the GPRS freebie, but if its the N100 in my account they are after, they are very welcome to it.

I was up until late last night trying to get suitable apps for the newest member of my SE collection. AYA where do get that radio app that allows you to listen to like a gazillion stations...played around with the Virgin Radio app and it's quite impressive.

@brix: Welcome to the smartphone clud! :-D I am not sure of which app you refer to. You may have to dig through the P800/P900/P910/P990 threads a bit to find it. I have used Virgin Radio as well, and its quite good.

Despite the SMS from MTN signalling the end of the sightz and soundz TRIAL period, browsing is still free, albeit painfully slow, it does not seem to signal the end of FREE gprs.

MTN GPRS isn't the only one slowing down, Vmobile GPRS has slowed down considerably, though its still a lot faster than MTN. I wish Glo allowed web access on its classic lines so I could do some comparisms.

@amby: I alerted everyone to vmobile GPRS slowing down last week... so its not news to me. Glo GPRS has remained as reliable as ever. On a scale of 1 to 10, here's my rating: Glo: 8. Vmobile: 5. MTN: 2. Yes; I was just thinking about Glo Premium and the possibility of having full internet on it yesterday.

Hey guys what's happening in Abuja? I read in my local newspaper that homes are being demolished in the Chika district of the city...it's seems like Zimbabwe's clean-up campaign all over again.

Anyone in Abuja please enlighten this poor South African peasant about the happenings there.

If I remember well, Glo Classic/Premium SIMs are 32k; while Contract SIMs are 64k.
