Just got my c905 yesterday, I am on 038 and cannot update to 042.

The volume on my Bluetooth headset hbh-ds980 is VERY LOUD.

Speed of the phone is good, improved over k850i

Wifi works great.

GPS has so far been a disappointment, takes forever (15 to 20 mins) to get a signal and then has low signal strength and frequently loses the signal. I really hope they improve it with firmware or something, GPS was one of the main reasons I upgraded from the k850i.

The camera cover has a small wobble like others have mentioned.

So far my keypad is scratch free.

I like the phone and love SE, but right now comparing it to my k850i I am having trouble justify the upgrade.

Oh, and this metal lanyard thing has got to go! It is kinda sharp and very uncomfortable. I am going to see how hard it is to take it off, otherwise I will just take off the battery cover and grind the metal lope down.

Alright, so here are my C905 problems. Anyone like to share these issues with me?

"Synchronisation" - using Exchange ActiveSync. The C905 won't connect to an Exchange Server properly, even though configured in exactly the same way as a W910. It appears to send the server the wrong http POST command

Connecting to a TomTom with Bluetooth. I still use a TomTom in my car, connecting to my phone over Bluetooth to get traffic updates. This is the first phone that won't work with the connection.

I've got a generic Western Europe firmware (none of that nasty network customisation, thanks DaVinci) and have done all the necessary configuration (including putting trusted certificates on the phone, allowing Bluetooth network connections, etc)

You'll be pleased to know that on upgrading to the latest firmware, 1205-9079 R1BA038 081016 (after debranding that Vodafone muck) I can now ActiveSync and TomTom to my heart's content with the phone. This now makes it my personal phone and the P1i will be relegated to the work phone...

Anything installed; programs or games will dissappear when you update the phone. It doesn't matter if you've put them on the memory card. They might still be on the memory card as files, but the phone will at least not recognise them as installed. So... you need to re-install everything again after the phone update.

SE MUST fix this, and bring out a proper backup tool - or even a content transfer tool (you could still tie it to IMEI if required, to stop people duplicating registered applications etc).

It's no good having PC Suite backing up most data, and losing all your apps and games that you bought and added. Firmware updates will become too much hassle to install; leaving you in a position where you think - do I update my phone to fix bugs and lose my data, or put up with the bugs to keep my data?

I agree. It's quite rude that a "user backup" manages to avoid backing up the one thing we actually pay for.
