My K750i has a problem of the battery charge status being displayed as 75% when the charger is plugged in and a maximum of 96% when it is unplugged. My firmware version is R1N035. Will a firmware upgrade rectify this problem ? Further, will this upgrade affect my phone's warranty (it is only a month old....so will it be better to take it to an authorised service center?)

Please help me coz I don't want the upgrade to lead to some other problems in my phone, since I can live with this if it is only a faulty indicator.

Thanks a ton !!

well if you have ample time to bring it to an SE service center... and you have a ton of patience... i guess its the safest way to do...

i had the same probs... but what i did was to upgrade it via SEUS 2. i wanted to do it myself rather than bring it to an SE service center... here in my place.. people there sux... if you can understand that....

but if its good in your area... then better bring it there...

cheers!

I doubt it. I upgraded to R1AA008 and notice some inconsistency between the battery icon indicator as well as the Phone Status > Battery indicator.

Personally, this is just one of the small glitches I can live with. When it's unplugged, the battery meter is very consistant, so it doesn't bother me. Knowing that there's still plenty of battery left when the meter is down to 25% is heart-warming, which is why I don't worry about it.

However, I seldom take long trips, let alone long trips sans the charger.

Speaking of which; being able to charge via the USB cable - that is very cool.

Probably not, because as firmware changes go, I don't believe it is a big thing to add to firmware, and the dissemination of said firmware is quick with little or no overhead.

i.e. The investment that would have to make to do that in terms of time and money, are, in my best guess, extremely low. That's one of the reasons that particular enhancement is so attractive.

I'm not nor have I ever been any kind of developer (let alone a SE developer) so I don't know this for a fact, I'm basing my thoughts on having years of IT experience, and experience with software development on the whole.

I think flight mode would be a very useful firmware enhancement.

@rockygali:
@leibniz:

Thanks a lot for ur help ! I went to the SE service centre......they say it could be a problem of battery drainage and so I will have to leave my phone with them so that they can check it out......
They also told me that in case I get a firmware upgrade, I will lose all the data on my phone. Is that true?? coz I read somewhere that in case of the K750i I will not lose my data in case of an upgrade !!
Sorry for asking such trivial questions....am new to all this firmware stuff !!

yep... its what an answer youll expect from an SE technician.. always treating us like were too dumb to understand these things... well anyway, they do have something to fix that stuff.
and incase of upgrade, yea. itll loose some of your files. its called flashing.. in PC terms.. formating.. or reformating stuff like that.

but if you go update via SEUS (meaning, online via the net) you will not loose any data... now this you will hafta do it yourself using the supplied cable.

I'm having problems with my 2GB High Speed Memory Stick Pro Duo Card- i've got 1.25GB of data on it, and it freezes my phone. Everytime i get an incoming call the screen stays blank and the phone simply vibrates- that is until i unplug the card and the screen finally shows the incoming call alert.

I think it might be down to the firmware (R1AA008) not being able to handle memory cards of this capacity with this much data. Although i find it strange why the card would need to be accessed before receiving a call or text message explaining abit more why the phone would freeze. If anyone could confirm they've had no problems with the same card on their phone that would be helpful in my quest to pin point this problem!

i havent got solid proofs tho i have read on other forums that they have tried using 4G on K750 and it works good.

and yes you have a point there about firmwares mishandles huge capacity MSD. have you tried using other brand in this manner? or if you have a friend who has a K750 why not try your stick on him...

post your report.. me wait...

My phone isn't being detected by the new SUES II (newest version). The wizard still detects it, ie i can still copy and paste to and from the phone memory to the computer, but not when I want to update it. Does it still have to do anything with the USB update drivers? Do I have to re-install them? I've had a half updated R1A phone for a while now and I was hoping with the new version that it would do it properly.. but now it doesnt even detect it.

Any ideas?
