The movie was laced all over with digital effects...another cool scene was towards the end of their stint on the island when the critters decide to starting munching on them.

Can you guys believe that parents actually took their small kids to watch this movie which is unbelievable considering all the violence and gore...it's by no means a slasher pic but still parents should check out a movie before watching it with their kids- I doubt any of them had a good nights sleep.

Yeah, there were more than enough moments to make little kids poep themselves, particularly that 'critters' scene. The delightful Kong-worshipping local community of Skull Island will also no doubt contribute to this too.

SA have got to be the unluckiest side when playing the Aussies. That lbw decision against Smith, when the ball was clearly so high up on the knee-roll was another shocker against us, just as Prince's very controversial dismissal was earlier in the match. And then to compound things, the bloody rain hampers us again.
The only chance of an outcome now is, if the weather holds tomorrow, they will have to bat and bowl asif it was a ODI.
Otherwise the series is gonna be theirs anyway...'tis doomed,I tell ye.

Didn't follow the cricket this morning due to an early appointment but when I heard it was bucketing down i lost all interest...tis probably going to be a draw so why the bother?

South Africa shouldn't feel too bad, they gave it their all and once the convicts land on local soil next month it's going to be all out...me thinks the whole of Boksburg will be out in full force to back-up Andre Nel when he sends one flying against the opposition.

It's just that it would've been the icing on the cake to defeat the world's no.1-ranked team in their own (out)back yard in a test series. How often have we managed to do that?

BTW, that NEC 411i O2 PAYG special I mentioned not too long ago, which includes the Bush DVD recorder and B/T headset has just dropped in price; now £119.99. (approx R1350.)
Damn, it can be so hard to save money here with all the incentives and deals to tempt one, cellphone related or otherwise. A strong will and a very strong resistance to impulsive buying is a must!

One thing that leads to such ridiculous deals might also be the fact that the UK handset market is saturated...I mean, in SA you would never get such a deal on PAYG.

Vodashop is throwing everything at people to get them to buy handsets...from iPods, tv's, hifi's, surround systems to a chance to win a trip to Mars.

I wonder what's the average time-frame that people hold on to their phones in the UK? I bought my second phone in on year which is weird when consider I was only going to upgrade in March- I guess I couldn't deal with the K700s issues for too long.

An interesting point...I mean from my own personal experiences I've been through a shed-load of phones purely because it's been so damn easy and relatively cheap to do so,although the fact that I have had the P900 for nigh-on 2 years is a record for me.
Yes, at times I can kick myself for spending what I have in the name of cellphone wizardry, even though I'm a self-confessed bargain hunter. I have managed to regain a lot of the money spent by sending the phones back to SA, in turn helped by the fact that I look after the phones meticulously.

Considering that cellphone contracts are a minimum of one year here, with further incentives for cellphone 'upgrades' after a year on contract, which in turn is spurred by significant competition,it goes without saying that the handset 'upgrade' rate must be quite high here.
I think this topic would make an interesting thread for this site.
Not sure if 'handset upgrade frequency' been generated before on esato...just wish the esato search was perhaps a little more user-friendly...

It seems that on average the posters on esato change their phones every six months...just observe the fanboys when a new phone gets announced- they drop everything, including common sense to buy it.

Me I can perhaps deal with a phone for a year before boredom or a better model grabs my attention.

I'm still planning to get a 3G phone this year but it might be later than March because so far I've got no complaints about the P910i.

This is one of those times when i'd love to be able to record directly onto dvd- there's a programme on SABC2 entitled Replay, showcasing 3 decades of South African television. Man, the political aspects aside, we've come a long way... The memories it's bringing back are so bittersweet, as those first years were also my formative years. Sad to say i learnt more from the newspapers than from the obvious medium of television, because of censorship. All in all, it's a very well researched programme, and well worth a watch if you've missed it and it's rebroadcast.

I missed it I was going to watch that program but got caught up with other things.
Did anyone catch the Chapelle Show last night? It was on the tv guide but when I tuned in it was not showing.

The Aussies did well to chase the target in 76 overs. In the circumstances, fair play to SA for declaring early to force a result after a seemingly generous total, considering the circumstances.
The Aussies could've just slowly batted out the remainder of the day,but 'went for the jugular' instead.

Oh well, poo happens...just that much more of it seems to happen to us than to them...

I gave the cricket a miss when I heard this morning that Brad Hodge and Punter were still at the crease smacking the SA bowlers all over the place.

@Falcon: I'm thinking about the 9500/9300, P910i, or any of the business models from iMate.
