I bought a GPS-reciver and are using nav4all whitch is a free gps-program. It works pretty well. It downloads maps via GPRS or wifi if you run it close to a hotspot. Some features in the program seems not to be working so well. Dont know if it's because running it on p990 or just bad programming.
the program can be used as a map-program only if you don't have a GPS-reciver.
I need help with something else.. sorry for multiposting this in more then one group.. but after updating fw i can't send mails! please test this anyone that have done the update.

To those people out there with a P990I, would you recommend it over the M600I and the K800I?

the answer is simple.
if you can do without a camera in the phone (and I'm sure most of us can), and if you're happy with UMTS data speeds and can live without the wifi, get the M600!
I know for a fact my M600 is a keeper for me whereas the P990 will be out the door when I tire of playing with it
I really feel the M600 is a fantastic move by and I still find it strange that when it was announced I took little interest and it was noly because of the P990 delay that I thought at least I could get a feel for UIQ3 by buying it.
Now I don't want to part with it

Thanks Masseur...
I agree with you about the initial motivation of getting the M600i... I was the same... thought... get used to the UIQ3... and jump for the P990i... but now... just thinking.... can not bear to be without the M600i... and although the P990i looks a great phone... through this thread I am feeling that the other than WIFI, camera and the radio... the M600i has it covered...an additional back up phone it is

Thanks for the reply's. I don't know if I would use the wifi but I keep seeing reports that the P990 is faster then the M600? And the camera is just useful to have but not essential.
Does anyone know if the M600 has a 3d graphics accelerator like the P990 is supposed to have? |

@apolloa
The M600 is not much slower at all than the P990. The video quality looks the same to me on both devices (very good!). The P990 feels very bulky compared to the M600. And the M600 has more free RAM (about 4/5MB) and seems more tolerant of Opera's need for a lot of memory resources. Also the M600, as you probably know, is 50% the price of the P990 (at least in the UK).
@ares
Congrats on you new P990!

So heres a question, my p910i is insured and has suffered an accident. What do you think they will replace it with? Replacement is like for like?
Do I want an M600 or hold out for a p990? Or one of the xda range?
Any ideas?

I found that if you turn on the flash light in picture mode, press and hold the shutter-button halfway down, and turn the jog-dial to access video mode, you still can use the flash light when recording video (fyi, there isn't any flash light setting in video mode).
Focus doesn't seem to work but you at least got flash light now when capturing video .

Gah! The default browser rocks!! Specially after the FW-update... If you don't have the cracked opera mini you cant go horizontal I guess and Opera mini doesn't support tab-surfing.. (or does it?)
Since the update I can really notice a change... much more stable even though I have had a few crashes. When playing to big videofiles it tend to lock up after a while and also I havn't been able to get it to work streaming a rm-file from internet.. The manual say it should support real-media.
