One bug I noticed in R1AA firmware is that after i record a sound of abt 3-5 min or longer ... when i go back to MY SOUNDS and on the recorded file to play it or rename or any other function for that sake, the phone turns slow. its kind of getting hanged for some time. Anyone else noticed this?

Now I know that this is the problem of the new firmware 008. I just updated the firmware again to eliminate the possibility of a corrupted upgrade, but it's too early to judge.
I wonder if they will ever make a flawless firmware, I beginning to think they do it on purpose... to piss us off... They correct bugs but keep creating new ones, I've had it!!

wotta logical decision... way to go... well ive seen these comments everywhere, those consumers that would love to be served as kings & queens, sheesh.
SE like all other companies is a developing company, theyve invented & reinvented stuff, this is technology were talking here, its a continuous process, youll create certain stuff, learn its flaws then re-create a new one, but along the way, new flaws will be discovered... so thats why its a continuous process, its not that exact. And i really hate it when people dont get what they deserve, but then what can we do? we'll just have to comment on things, and let them know what else theyve missed...
but then again, IF YOU DONT LIKE THE TECHNOLOGY, DONT USE IT!
cheers!

take it easy dude... i can see you're a fan of SE, but there are bugs in 008 that WEREN'T there in 035. I can name three precisely.
And I do understand the process of development... They could try harder though and not spoil thing that worked fine...
cheers...

i dont really know... but coming from fw R1N, to R1AA the menus look alot like zippier than the previous one... to change from one menu item to the other.. its alot snappy than R1N...
thats my own observation.

I worked as a software developer for 2 years and have been in the IT industry for 10. I know that most companies in our marketplace (100k people, government city) tend to rush software development for the sake of completing tasks on time. Quality is effected and it causes an obvious increase in updates and bug fixes. I definitely would not be surprised to see this in a large corporate entity.
That said, trying to create perfect firmware for a little piece of hardware that isn't consistent from country to country and can change from month to month is a moving target at best.
Right now my phone is at about 98% usability. Just a few bugs. Certainly, I'd like 0 bugs, but if every angle of the software on it is usable and workable on a daily basis, I'm happy.
i.e. I could live with a little hum or a slightly less than 100% crisp image if all the functionality (including GPRS) was working 100%.

yeah.. it would be impossible for se to create a 100% FW. but if would really help if they would create a FW that addresses what the consumer wants. |

I must be the only person that has no problem whatsoever. All these bugs every one mentions - well, I've never come across them on my phone. My phone is a standard O2 supplied phone with the British version of the firmware.
OK, fine, if I have to mention a slight problem; the quality of the photos is definitely not 2 mega-pixels. When downloading a photo to my pc it looks a bit, no, a lot grainy/pixelated compared to photos taken with my canon IXUS camera (also 2 meg resolution)
But I'm not complaining as I hardly ever take photos with the phone and also not really bothered about it.

Same her with my W800i. There are some minor problems, but let's face it, this is a great piece of technology. The only thing I ask for is that SE keeps bringing out new firmwares with slight improvements. Most people don't want new features, but improvements and more stability. |
