I'm on R1AA008 and I get the horizontal lines as shown in the N035 firmware example above. Is it more likely to be the luck of the draw with the CMOS detector? |

@ajeffries
I've always had lines on my pictures unless in VERY well lit conditions, so guess it may be luck of the draw. |

Same here: horinzontal lines in dark areas of my pictures, both with R1L002 and R1AA008 firmware. |

I last checked SEUS on 2nd Feb and then it was saying the R1NA005 that I've got on my W800 is the latest version. Orange r telling me there's a 008 version and that should fix MP3 player faults. I can't find it though.
Looking back through these forums there was a something008 late last year. The last thing Orange told me was that the earliest versions of the W800 (pre- September 2005) didn't have these problems. I'm wondering if they've got their knickers, and facts, in a twist???
Unfortunately after 7 years with Orange I realise they don't know their arses from their elbows and just say whatever old rubbish (including "it's down to SonyEricsson to fix it") to get you off the phone. Best of luck sorting yours out. Chances are you're on a contract, whoever you got the handset & contract from are obliged under sale of goods/defective goods supplied as part of a service regulations to sort you out a replacement/repair. Doesn't matter if it's more than 28 days or any of that crud either. Check out http://www.consumerdirect.gov[....]ds-service/mobile/fs_b01.shtml |

Hi everyone,
I've read most of the forum but noone seems to have noticed a bug I found in the new R1AA008 on my K750.
The alarm clock plays only a few seconds of the tune and goes quiet but is still flashing the screen. A restart cures it, but later it randomly happens again. I almost overslept to work once... annoying...
Anyone had it? |

Dunno the cause of this problem you have, but just a suggestion - You could run the SEUS update again.
When you run the update it will state that you have the latest version but then you have the option to either quit or to proceed and reflash the phone again.
Another thing, remove your memory stick just to play it safe. It has not happened to me but a mate of mine tells me the update corrupted his memory stick and he's lost a couple of nice eye-candy photos he took.
Let us know if this helped or not.

I recently updated my K750i firmware from R1N035 to R1AA008. I would like to confirm the static noise bug when receiving call. Never happen for R1N035. This is really frustrating when a phone cannot even perform its basic function well. Love the phone though. Hope SE fix it ASAP.

hey guys check this reply regarding the hissing in the current F/w.
Dear JP,
Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.
With regards to your enquiry, thank you for your feedback regarding the firmware we have released for your Sony Ericsson W800i. With firmware version R1AA008, we have not experienced the issues you have described. Please try updating your handset through our online update service, located on our website under the support page for the Sony Ericsson W800i. Once you have done this please reply with the results. If your handset still experiences the same sound quality issue, this may be due to the source of the sound/video clips. Try the play back of these clips on a PC that does not use background noise reduction software on playback. This will help you identify if the recordings are of poor quality. Please note sound/video clips taken outside may include a certain amount of background noise that will sound like hiss interference. This is most likely not interference but noise from air passing over the microphone (wind).
IF this advice does not help resolve these issues, please contact us on **** *** *** so one of our agents can advise you of our warranty repair service.
Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

@ Uncle Bob
Are you suggesting the update might have gone wrong?? Can SEUS actually load a corrupted firmware??
My files on the memostick are fine, nothing happened to about 300MB of data on the stick during the upgrade. I'm certain the tune didn't get corrupted, as the problem occurs with any tune I use as alarm clock even if it's from the phone memory.
This happened only about 4 times in 2 months, but still... |

I'm not suggesting the files became corrupted even though the possibility exists. The files could be fine on the SE server, but something could have happened on your own machine. There's about a million reasons and possibilities of what could have gone wrong. If you think about it, other people in your area also downloaded and updated their phones with the files yet they have no problems, only you, so maybe something happened while you were downloading the update files. Maybe a butterfly flapped its wings on the other side of the world and thus set off a chain reaction in the atmosphere influencing the download of your files.
Just thought its worth a try.
Regarding the memory stick; I prefer to play it safe.
