Most the law firms that run them SCAMS , have been temporary stopped by the courts for the moment and virgin media and talk talk don't hand out ip address to them you can follow such news here www.torrentfreak.com , i've download a couple of films off the piratebay, i'm a member of 5 private trackers and i've never received anything telling me stop.

Up to 20Mb broadband

Perfect for families going online at the same time,
downloading movies, online gaming and more.

lol so I think I may take the plunge and update my audio

50mb is pretty cheap i thought it was £45 a month

10mbit is fine for downloading audio & video, streaming and most things, you would only really need more if you wanted to stream hd, or download and seed a hundred torrents a day or download the entire internet in a day.

@kerry
The Netgear hub is already preconfigured with Virgins settings. You dont need to do a thing except to connect everything up then turn on at the mains. Then on your computer search for the wifi access point and click on the one that match's the ssid of your netgear router. Next enter the passkey. Iirc it a wpk key found on the barcode sticker next to the ssid name. The passkey is usually something like preinstall (all in lowercase).
The first time you use your browser you will be directed to a page to do with the router. Follow what it says. Until you do the last bit you wont be able to use the internet.

I love the staff packages Virgin do. I get xl tv, xl phone and xl internet all for the grand total of a massive..............£35 a month.
Dont have my mobile with them cos i stuck with o2. Plus the mobiles on virgin are all low range bar a few.

Some routers aren't secured though, and if you do online gaming or use torrents or something you might want to forward ports aswell.

For online gaming my virgin netgear connected fine with my ps2 & ps3. However i did have problems with my dsi xl which doesnt accept wpk passcodes. Had to go into the router settings and change the security to WEP instead. Less secure but at least i can connect anything i need to.

It lets a certain port range bypass the routers firewall for a speedy connection.
