Also S-LCD (Samsung-Sony LCD manufacturing JV) and SLCD (Super LCD screens) are not one and the same. The Sony SLCD screens used in phones has nothing to do with Samsung or their JV with Samsung but Sony Mobile Displays which is now Japan Display (merger of INCJ, Sony, Toshiba and Sharp mobile display divisions) So yes we will still see Japan Display screens in their phones.
Actually they are Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi, but you are right - Japan Display will focus on high-end technologies, such as Toshiba's LTPS, Sony's AMOLED and Hitachi's IPS.
With announcements made by Hitachi and Toshiba last couple of months we can expect some cutting edge displays on Sony smartphones in the near future. |

SONY's OLED not AMOLED
I'm really exciting to see PS Vita's OLED screen compare side to side with Samsung Galaxy S2's Super AMOLED Plus by this Christmas
It's good for them to dump out the SLCD because now Sony teamed up with Hitachi / Toshiba as The Japan Displays.
Probably some Taiwanese optic might interested to invest money after SONY left the place.
Anyway, I'm still wonder because I heard that Sony had cancelled plan investment in LED technology earlier this year and buy from Samsung instead due to it cheaper than company set up one. I had been read from Newspaper brief tech report column.

Sony was the first one they have with OLED also with LED and i i not misteken LCD together with Sharp, but Samsung are nothing more copycats no invest cost.
Sony still invest in LED and OLED as you can see, but Sony don't have big factory to produce them for the mass market, thats why Sony and Samsung work togehter, Samsung have the most profit to use without payment for licents and Sony just have use their factory, very bad for Sony also very bad deal. |

So can we see Carl Zeiss or Sony G lenses integrated on Sony smartphones now? knowing Sony they won't care about the price going sky high for as long as they pack everything feasible into it

For all we know, it might turn out to be a boon for all us fans. Sony will surely put in the latest hardware tech nd let the market do the rest.
However I am more concerned about the timeline in which they plan to start launching devices. Are there confirmed reports stating that we'll be seeing Sony devices at CES and MWC? Most of the newspaper reports are talking about how Sony will have a lag of 12-18 months.

why lag? So, there will be no new phones from SE or Sony? I have planned and saved money to buy Nozomi or other dual-core phones from SE |

Of course there will be. All that is pure speculation. You will see at least the nozomi by January. (Announcement I mean. not available for sale of course)

how about re-badge? I'm sure Sony Ericsson has prepared about Nozomi..and I'm sure they already have the prototype. So, why don't change the brand to Sony? is it bad idea? |

When SE was just a newborn company, they rebranded several models and updated their SW, the T68i being the most remembered. so i think we'll only see a refresh on the current SE models or maybe they'll still release the remaining SE prototypes that are lined for next announcements and make some updates

They will. 2012 any model released will be re branded as SONY. But of course if SONY release their own phones then that would not be necessary and the current SE prototypes shall be cancelled. Let's see what happens.
But the reason I feel they will not re badge the current SE prototypes is then it might make a negative impact and it will be pointless to complete the deal so soon and have the same phones just being re branded and launched as Sony.
The nozomi by all rumors yet is going to be yet another Arc. At least 6 months behind the competition and not a true high end model. Don't really know if SONY will want to take the risk of bad rep with their very first model. And also its 2011(2012) now not 2001 where any bad move might potentially ruin it all for them especially the first 2 years.

But the problem is that Sony might not have made any new phone model yet, and i think 2-4 months is not enough time for them to build even a single high end model, unless they already predicted this instance and made some ready-to-build designs even before the buyout, they have no choice but to release Nozomi. but i think they just need to update some key System HW components (if nozomi's rumored specs are true) and integrate their 16mp camera used on S006/S007 and it will easily look future proof.

Sony won't make the schoolboy error of releasing phones they haven't designed under the Sony brand. It just doesn't make sense to. It all depends on whether Sony have handsets already in their R&D and when they will be ready to launch.
Until their own handsets are ready to be launched we will see SE leftovers filing the gaps (if they believe they will get any sort of volume out of them).
I would guess about half of the current SE protos will be dumped and only the best ones kept on to pass the time until Sony have their own shizz together.
When Sony have their handsets ready that's when we'll see Sony handsets. Simple as. Although it's anybody's guess how progress is with Sony's own handsets. They might not have even got to the drawing board yet.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

Your guess is as good as mine or anybody else's at this point really as we have no idea what is coming in the future. But here my few cents on this
1) made it clear that they will not be using the Sony Ericsson name.
2) If the planned to launch SE under development handsets next year then why would they have hurried the deal and targeted for a completion of the deal by January 2012 ?
3) Lately they have got experience of making Android / 3G devices like the PS Vita, Tablet S/P and the Walkman Z.
4) Launching SE handsets next year might not be the best idea as they will want to start off with a product that makes a bold statement and sends out a clear message that is in the smartphone business now and their competitors better watch out and also reiterate their technology and design superiority like they did with the Tablet S
5) Another reason they cannot take any risks with sub par products is that the smartphone business in the only ray of light at the end of the tunnel for them. They just announced their Q2 results and now forecast a loss for the year 2011-12 ending March 2012.
So I would say its pretty likely they might have a phone prototype already with all their technological know how crammed into it.
And we all know how secretive Sony is about their future products.

What Device is this ? Xperia shukatsu ?
http://www.sonyericsson.co.jp/product/campaign/xperia-shukatsu/
And apparently Nozomi and other will be rebranded as SONY and sold next year. In house developed SONY phones will come out only by Q3 2012.
Source: unknown13x from XDA. He works at so the info is definitely credible. He posted this :
"We won't be seeing "Sony Ericsson" starting early next year. There will be some changes to the brand, but won't completely phase out the "E" part til late Q3 to full Sony brand. No worries, Sony did not cut out any important products that was previously planned, so we'll still enjoy its full scale mobile products "
