A good buy, I've just got the HD5H (30Gb version)
It's a great little player but I still want the W800, don't want to carry 2 devices all the time.
Will be mostly using the HD5H at home plugged into the stereo, can't be bothered with CDs anymore.

A "Boxed" version san's manual should be in my hands early next week I was told, hopefully on Monday.... Everything final but the firmware and of course the manual.

I will also be provided the information on the significant differences between it and the K750i.... so just check with my site for the full review, and I'll be sure to put some photos up here for the Esato members to puruse...

When I used it in March, I was very impressed with the hardware on such a "Small Device"..... really tiny phone and the quality of the 2.0 images was impressive as well, considering the S700 is so much larger....

@Bengal Boy, sounds good. As soon as I saw you posted in this thread I knew you would have good news for us, or at least good photos. I'll await your little review.

it absolutely does not list 800 or 850. The website states triband 900, 1800 and 1900 support.

I think you guys are confusing the specs of the W600a with the W800i now.

By the way, GSM 800 and 850 are the same thing. Its just an inconsistent naming convention.

It should work anywhere u can get the 1900Mhz reception. I am with Cingular and Cingular uses both 850MHz and 1900 MHz. Cingular has 1900MHz in most of the major cities and that keeps me hanging in here with my K700i and K750i!

GSM 800 and GSM 850 are NOT.. repeat NOT.. the same thing. They are two different and distinct bands. GSM 850 is commonly found in North America whereas GMS 800 is..well.. everywhere else haha.

I am afraid you are still very much mistaken. GSM 800 is not used everywhere else. You are thinking of GSM 900, which is very widespread.

Seriously do a little research on this issue.

Anyway, I do hope they make a North American version of the W800. I don't want to have to choose between W800i and W600a simply because one has the 850 band and the other doesn't.

the W800i is not meant to be a North American phone, the i designation clearly indicates that it is meant as one of the international or European phones. They will release it to the American market, but it isn't meant for the Americas.

At least we get the W600a here.
