Went to the gun show today. Finally had a chance to see the SW .500 Magnum up close. Much as I like the snub nosed model with compensator, the 86,000 price tag for the unit and bullets that cost 200 pesos a pop don't make it too practical
The HK dealership here in the Philippines is slated to be taken over by Advanced Weapons Systems whom I've found to be easier to deal with in the past. May finally have a chance to repair my busted HK.

I have a real interest in firearms, and weaponry in general. I mean i have no reason for a real gun so obviously i don't own one, but i've had a collection of airsoft handguns, but now i have a Beretta MOD. 92 FS Gas powered pellet gun. Me and my Friend got one each, he got it in black, and i grabbed the last Nickle one, which looks champagne.

It's VERY heavy in comparison to the air soft ones i've had, and is very powerful compared. Of course it's no semi-auto, so no need to "cock" it back everytime i want to fire

I'll be moving to the US in a few years so maybe ill get a gun license then, untill then i guess this is all i can do at the age of 17! This was the most powerfull gun my local shop had and cost about £180-£200 each.

It fits my hand like a glove, and i think it's definatley one of the best looking hand guns on the market. (btw im no professional!) I'd love some kind of fully automatic pistol, or if anyones seen Romeo&Juliet The gun that Mercutio (I think thats him, he the african guy - Leonardo decaprios friend) drops into the sand before he dies. I'm pretty sure it's the gun i have, but it has a clear handle and clip, so you can see the bullets through the gun...PHAT!

Sorry for sounding like an amateur, we'll probably because i am!

doc,
but not considering the price (and expensive bullets), the SW 5000 is really a great blaster, right? and the compensator is the visual killer. i have a friend who reported that he saw a resurgence of some beretta 92S over there, priced Php24k only! but the position of the magazine release turns us off (it's the old style below-the-grip near the back-strap placement). but if that doesn't bother prospective buyers, then go for it. yes, Advance Weapons have it too. the owner, Chris Aquino (NOT kris), seems like a nice person, so i guess you will finally have your USP done.

i wasn't able to attend the GunShow this time. my mom's in the hospital, have to watch over her. so.....were you able to take some pictures? can you please install them here? thanks.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope it's nothing serious. Those Berettas you mentioned are reconditioned that's why they're so cheap.
Went to the gunshow as a spur of the moment thing as I was really there at Megamall to pick up an old gold coin at world treasures. Since the gun show was just upstairs I decided to pass by. Didn't bring a camera and don't know why it didn't occur to me to take pictures with my cellphone Anyway, the rifle exhibit was off limits to civilians.

I own a Browning 9mmK, nice compact firearm, 7 in the clip, usually a mixture of hollowpoint and hardball as i carry it every day, usually in an ankle holster as my profession doesn't facilitate the wearing of clothes really suited to other types of holsters.

doc, re: the cheap berettas... if it is reconditioned, and as what my friend told me- they are the 92s... then it is this old model, pictured below:
(note the placement of mag release, the rounded trigger-guard, and smooth plastic grip, among other noticable differences)

Yup, that's it. I think that the magazine release placement is a throwback to the days when people almost invariably shot one-handed. Good thing they've decided to place it in its current location, its just much more convenient

this is how the beretta 92 has transformed now..... (so it seems the vertec straight-back was just a market experiment)

doc, i don't know if you've seen this one. it's a gun attachment that will be used to shoot around corners. whats nice here is that we can attach any of the guns we currently have....from handguns or pistols, to 40mm launchers.

some pictures of the CORNERSHOT

(...The CORNERSHOT system is not about to revolutionise urban warfare, but it will give those using it a definite edge over those not using it. CORNERSHOT has already been acquired by police and special forces units around the world after trials took place, and is in use in many cities as we speak. The system itself will only be available to the military or law enforcement communities.)

that is possible. and about the accuracy... it will depend on the accuracy of the attached gun, and yes- the skill of the user to shoot remotely, using the LCD monitor as sighting device. for me it looks like you will be shooting like on a first-person shoot-out PC-Game.

whatever, as long as it keeps those slugs coming directly my way
