Yamaha XT behind the BSA if i am not mistaken , and i think it may be the 660xtx model. Looks much nicer in orange and black though |

@ 5nak3:
Yup, it sure is the XT660X, i.e. supermotard version.
Orange n' black; I think of KTM immediately when I hear/see that colour combo..

hehe, yeah the orange and black colour scheme does throw up images of KTM stright away, in fact when i got to test ride the orange/black XTX last summer the first thing anyone said to me when they saw me was "is that a KTM?" lol.
I must admit for a 50bhp bike it is really nippy.
Quick question, i've not actually used macro mode too much at all but you seem to be getting really nice pictures, what distance you holding the phone at to get those pics?
I assume that the phone doesn't do too well really close up, i was trying to get a shot but the pics never turned out like yours, mine seemed a bit blured.

@ 5nak3:
It's trial and error with macro mode. I wait for it to 'lock', check the key focal area on the display and if it's easy enough to see on the screen if it's gonna be a blur. You are right; you can't get TOO close, as no amount of fiddling will get it to focus if it's too close (ie. just a few cm, LOL).
Very hard to say as what is the ideal distance; i.e. on average 15-30cm with the floral pics before I got the desired focus in macro mode.
It's usually just a case of adjusting both settings and distance from the object in small increments until it 'locks' without blurring the preferred focal area.

thanks for the tip, i'll look into that see if i can get the picture i've been trying to take for ages now. What happened with the new bike? Still attaching bits and bobs to it? |

Yeah I ordered a new 4-into-1 exhaust last week. Still waiting for it to arrive. It's a Remus performance system, stainless steel header pipes and link pipe, with Remus's new 'Hexacone' titanium cannister, which also has a carbon fibre outlet tip etc.
Should be a huge weight-saving too, compared to the standard 4-into-2 with all the EU-reg baffling crap in both those huge cannisters.
Then I'll get the thing dyno-jetted to get the fuelling etc spot on.
When we went to Hastings on the bike on the bank holiday, I could feel that the front brake discs will need replacing too...they're definitely warped, albeit slightly. Very obvious under braking at slower speeds.
Sigh, there goes another 200-odd quid for a set of new dinner plate size brake discs...
