the bugs will be fixed by firmware updates.
Though, the k800i models being sold now (people who buy today for example) MAY have the new firmware installed on them, but i dont know, i got mine a couple weeks ago and its the same many have on here.....

doesnt really matter what version it comes with tho, coz its not that hard to get the latest firmware. The problem is whether the latest firmware still has a lotta bugs

the new version may or may not have bugs. But eventually, one version will be perfect, well almost 'perfect'....

true, but I just want that perfect/almost-perfect version to be ready before the end of this week, which is when I'll be getting my K800i. Wow, you seem to be submitting new posts even faster than I am I just want my phone to stop looking semi-transparent. (refering to the K600i at the left hand side)

just change the k600i in your profile under 'my account'. Choose the phone you want.

Your k800i will be fine, the bugs arent major. Mine is almost perfect right now....

Ine thing i'm finding annoying is the time it takes to actually click 'View' when you have a new SMS. Its as if its hanging then the View appears for you to click. Petty but annoying.

I find it a bit slow compared to my k750 tho, general menu selection is a bit slow.

Orange Uk branded btw.

Question:

Why the continual comparison of the k800i to the k750i? They are two different phones other than they being produced by SE. It is apples and oranges as far as I am concerned, IMHO. You have a regular GSM phone and a 3G phone with many more features. It seems to be sour grapes.
*edited on a Mac of course. Mac: There is no substitute*

N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here?

Heh I'm also wondering, why isn't the K790i incoporated into this thread as well?

You can talk about about the K790i offcourse.

mwarner:

The main difficulty is that the K800 and K790 have different firmware revisions, which makes it difficult for me to keep up with the latest information and test for any bugs or fixes that have been discovered. As you may know, the K790 is not readily available in the UK.

Possible bug:
After every switch on the RSS icon appears on the top row, but I didn't set up any automatic RSS feed update. It disappears when I go to the RSS feeds.

Anybody?

My K800 problems:
1. Set 'Application' in the Activity Menu. When your wallpaper is animated, it takes so loooong to open it-almost 8-10 sec. With still wallpaper, it's almost instant-a second.
2. Create a shortcut on navigation key up. After rebooting, it's ALWAYS back to default, i.e. Video Player.
3. White screen many times during navigating. But pressing the right sofkey returns it to normal..

Other problems, sorry for continuous posts, I'm at Opera Mini..:
4. Clock size bug..chinese f/w
5. Opera Mini- searching the net ONLY in the 1st launch needs to press Activity Menu to get OK option.
6. Never having successful blogging. Operator-dependence? I'm in Indonesia..
7. Invisible text editing in blog creation due to the default 'pale yellow' color background. It's theme-related.
