Hey all (especially funks), here's some more info:
1) Orig. T68m, 02w02, R1B....flashed to R5D007: Lost standbye time; BT talked to PC and phone fine...discoverable.
2) Same T68m, reflashed with R2E006 from sevenfire's website; used 1 credit and the language flash method (10mb file); BT perfect, sent file to pc, received file from pc, pc was able to use phone as modem....but most importantly, standby times are way back up 215+....
So funks, here's more info for ya....maybe R5D007EEuro only for R5A hardware or higher? T68m's should go to R2E006? Just stabbing here....
Good luck

Yes, it's most likely the R5D007 EU dump was from a new revision of the T68i.. If you want your phone updated to a newer version, there's a guy LVWIRELESS that has an EMMA2 setup in Las Vegas..
http://www.gsmphonesource.com
You can probably get it flashed through him up to R5D007 through EMMA2 (which should load the proper R5D007 for your hardware rev).. Please give us the firmware once you are done - I'm sure the other early rev T68i's/T68m's will be able to use it..
thanks, table updated.

kookdeville...my hardware rev is R1B...I'm sure that, based on "funks" table, you had the perfect rev for flash "all the way" up to fw R5D007 EE to work...however, mine didn't since it was a very early model..I believe 02W02...so yes, funks, emma2 would make everything ok...sort of like a low level format kind of thing....
psion...I did not think to test the wap settings...and my wife already left with the phone for the day...will test it out later on tonight and will post findings...
thanks guys (and gals)! |

do you happen to have a CompUSA store near you ? I went to a local one in NYC and tested a BT headset. It connected fine, but I was not ready to kick out $179 (motorola bt headset) for a headset, that i know i would misplace ! |

I think there is a couple of them but either one is a two hour drive one way, either going north to one or south to the other. I just haven't had a chance. I'd bet my bluetooth works, but I'll test when I can. Oh some advice to anyone thinking about buying the Holster ICT-13, save your money! I've had one for about 3 months and I finally retired it. It has been the only reason my phone has ever been dropped, everytime was because of this stupid holster. So there are marks from hitting pavement all over my phone's backhousing.

Hey all...went over to gsmphonesource in Vegas today and had a long conversation with Adam...very nice guy and yes, he has emma2 all set up...I'm going to let him flash my t68m all the way back up to R5D007, with the euro language set, if he has it cause I want the french, spanish, german and english thing. After that I'm going to dump the file down and then give it to you guys...Another thing, funks, why don't you and waikincheng, if you guys are reading this, pm me. I have some info but do not think that it should be spread haphazardly over the forums like this...discretion and all that stuff. Just want to share it with you guys is all. Funks, did you have a place I can upload the fw once I have it? let me know and give very specific instructions cause I may not end up being the person to do this, ok?
Alright, talk to you guys soon... |

Hey all, first I want to thank everyone who has posted to this thread, as I was able to flash my original t68m from voicestream (now t-mobile) up to r5c001 without any trouble just by reading the posts.
So far all I have noticed are good things. The menus are clearly faster (I know I can't prove this but it is very obvious, so i feel I can state it with confidence), the picture seems brighter and sharper, and the rings/sounds are also louder (again this is a very noticable difference so I don't think I am overstating what this upgrade does). I have not noticed any battery changes either (still >200hours standby).
The battery issue (for people who have it) must be related to something that the new firmware is running in the background all the time, like IR or bluetooth or constatnly searching for service or something, how else could firmware change the battery life? The physical chemistry of the battery is the same and the electronics that are drawing on it are the same. Has everyone with this problem looked through the settings to see if anything is on or diabled that shouldn't be?
One question for the group, anyone ever have trouble with their joystick? Mine will not go left. Right, up and down work fine, but a left move is always interperted as a down click. (I know its off topic, but this thread has a knowledgable reader base...)
Thanks!!:)

The BT failure others are talking about does not involve BT headset, they all worked fine. It's the fact that it can't be discovered by another device, like pocket pc etc, and use T68i as modem to access internet. |
