This is great news.

I wonder if the K800i's will dominate the threads in place of the K750i's (as was the case with the earlier K700i). Or if the K750i is at such a level as it is, that it won't be shaken from the post that easily by the K800i.

Good question, but I think it will eventually take over like you said with the K750 + K700...@ Xugaa, I think that's around £240-£280 mate

Something unexpected has happened. I was playing with my mates d600 yesterday. The camera was nice, (slightly just behind the w800, ecttt in terms of no autofocus) but the video was awesome. And now ive decided to get one over the k800. I realsised how much the k800 was behind in terms of video once i saw the mp4 capture of the 600. There are also 2 3.2MP camera phones coming out soon (one UMTS and GSM) from Samsung. One thing which did please me however is tat all the clips from here worked nicely on the d600 which is great.

To be honest im not really fussed on Java applications, infact i never even use them anyway. I think i used a game once. As far as message tones go, well its a compramise. And new firmware versions DO allow you to use the music player in the backgrund.

All i really want is a sold phone with decent pictures and good video capture. The d600 has that. Right after the k800 will come the z710 from Samsung. Check the review on mobile-review.com. Outstanding video quality.

One good thing though ill still be able to use the video clips form here. lol

No it cant play wmv, but wmv can be converted easily to play. Apart from Autofocus its pretty much on par with the k750/w800. The k800 can trealy be compared with it as itsa 3.2mp camera phone. Its like comparing the Nokia N90 with the 6630. If you want to compare the k800 then compare it to other 3.2mp camera phones such as the sharp 903 (which has optical zoom and shoots in 30fps) or the samsung z710 and d870 which both shoot in over 30fps (qvga or vgan not sure), both phones shoot video even better than the w900.

All im saying is that for me its important to be able to capture good video as well as take good photos. There was some talk of SE apparently released phone that can shoot in high def but thats rubbish. A full DVD can justabout handle 30 mins of HD i dont know how phones are gingto hndle it.

SE are good, vry good infact one of the best but for me i cant fathom how the k800 only has qcif recording.

Ok look at sample 3 of the vieo recording and tell me your not pissed of the k800 wont be able to do that.

http://www.gsmarena.com/review.php3?idReview=51&idPage=2

Heres a quote from a review on the z710:
The video recording quality is above average – all the clips look fine when watched on the handset and don’t possess any obvious flaws in maximum resolution – further more, the quality remains fair even on PC. I shall note that the clips, filmed with the help of this handset are better than the ones, recorded with many other devices, including Sony Ericsson K790/K800, which features a 3 Mpix camera as well.

bavlondon2: If you want video recording, buy a freakin video camera! To each his own I guess... For me a high quality AUTO FOCUS photo camera is ALOT more improtant, since it will let me take quick quality pictures wherever I am (something that's difficult to do with my Nikon D70). If you want to film "the most beautiful thing ever" (American Beauty) then get the D600

FWIW, I consider non of the three phones you listed as comparable to the K790/K800 for several reasons. 1st - non of them are available in 850mhz; 2nd - 2 out of the 3 phones are flip phones which is completely different design (and one that I don't care for) and 3rd - non of them have the SE GUI I've tried Samsung's GUI and I find it Cumbersome at best and I know nothing of the Sharp's UI.

Again - to each his own.

yes i agree with that.. to each its own... if the D600 can capture good vids which is quite obvious... then it can capture good vids... errr yep i can see it can capture good vids... and ummm... yea i guess thats about it...

while on the other hand, K800 has this autofocus which definitely a cut above the freakin rest... and its definitely taking note of. have you seen on that review he posted... while taking objects in close range.. it gets blurry especially the key that was taken in close range darn i can hardly see its a key. well anyway on the other other hand... man i do have lots of em, playing sumthing in the background whilst for example SMS/MMS composing, or like using WAP having this is quite nifty coz you can do alot more stuff simultaneously... aint that great? well all i can say is that.. samsung really can make good vid cams... but not as good as can make the best cam phones... would you agree?
