Just got off the phone with a tech support guy at a central SE repair centre, he kept on referring to the latest firmware release as R1AA028, so when I enquired about it he said that indeed a new version is out but as of yet it's only installed only at certified SE centres. Could it be that a new firmware version is indeed out and how long before its released in the wild (DaVinci and SEUS II)? |

If you are correct it is odd that they have not incremented the AA section of the FW name, it might just be there are only very minor changes. |

after upgrading, i noticed i sometimes miss some sms messages. this usually happens when a message comes in and i pressed a key at the same time. when you look in the inbox, there is no new meesage there. very annoying.. anyone else experience this so far?

Hey everyone:
I've been following this thread with interest. Although I haven't read EVERY page, I've read about a dozen pages and I'm considering upgrading the firmware on my K750i (assuming that I even can.)
I am on Rogers (Cingular) in Canada, and am currently on firmware R1N035 and my Sofware information indicates that the product originated in Hong Kong (or at least it originated with HK software.)
R1N035

LCD SW versions
Main display
Current: 0
Just wondering if anyone else with similar configuration has successfully upgraded and if so, what is the extent of the "hissing sound" problem.?
Thanks.

RTouris; He is wrong. There is no R1AA028. Next public release will be R1BB00x or R1BC00x. |

I'm not really sure...He still stands by his claims, I just got off the phone to the exact same guy again...Maybe there are not for public "consumption" (i.e. SEUS II)...not really sure |

I've been patiently waiting and reading here about orange 'approving' this version R1AA008 so my cr*ppy W800i can start acting like they said it would when I bought it. Has anyone actually got confirmation from Orange that this is beiong held up by them. I just tried to get this sorted on their customer service line and they tried to fob me off with 'its a manufacturer issue' not a service provider issue. They didn't know diddly squat about the problems and tried to tell me it was a dodgy memory card that was stopping my mp3 transfers.
I don't understand why we're all waiting for this. We have been sold a pup. These phones do not work as they said they would and IMHO that means that the 'are not fit for purpose' seeing as they are named 'walkman phones'.
Does anyone have anything official from either party that says what is happening? I'm getting sooooooooooo fed up.
Cheers

I emailed SE yesterday, and here's the response I got:

Sony Ericsson Call Center in Sweden still denies any knowledge of the "hissing during calls" problem. (I included a link to the thread about hissing in my support request)
They tell me to send my phone to a SE service partner.
I really hope that everyone that is experiencing problems with their handset report it to Sony Ericsson.

ive noticed that same bug... like for example im doing anything on my phone besides composing SMS or browsing SMS Inbox (i.e. picking files for media player, browsing photos, choosing themes) then eventually i have received an SMS, itll show on my screen the sender, then ill eventually choose to read it so i picked YES... then after reading that ill eventually get back to what i was diong previously, when all of a sudden youll get the same alert but eventually after you choose YES to read that alert, nothing comes on..
ive experienced that on the previous firmware (R1N).
my K750 has R1AA008 EU1 (SEUS2 upgrade) from an R1N035 EU2 (Davinci Flash); originally my firmware is R1L002 ZH (out of the box) its CHINA

For anyone interested:
I just upgraded my K750i firmware from R1N035 to R1AA008 (Hong Kong) and the first thing I notice playing tunes via speakerphone is that there is definitely more of a hissing sound. It's noticable and I'm sure it wasn't there before. I'm not generally swayed by the bandwagon effect (i.e. expecting hiss) but knowing about the problem allowed me to take note both before and after the upgrade.
Not sure if I can put up with this until the next firmware release or if I should look into a davinvi downgrade. (From my reading, I assume this is possible)

Curious ! I upgraded from R1N035 to R1AA008 on dec.15th and, today, my friend have upgraded his K750 and just after, i told him about the bug where he won't be able to zoom on panoramic pictures, then he tried and, surprise ! It works ! So, i tried the same action, nothing ! No zoom on panoramic pict. ! Is it a new revision of the R1AA008 ? What should i do? I didn't check the hissing (that i have). Any idea?
