There are rumours about Samsung buying ST-ericsson. They need the modem part for their exynos. They will probably close down the processor side of it and just keep the modems if that happens. Or Ericsson can just pull out their modem business and team up with Samsung, "Samsung-Ericsson"

The Samsung Galaxy S III mini, which would be announced tomorrow, would run on a STE U8420 SoC. Anyone has any info about this SoC since the current talk is about STE? Can't find any info about it, or my Google-fu is weak.

He also said that he would take the Xperia P every day of the week compared to the leaked Samsung mini. MOstly because of the aluminium chassi and much better camera!

Well, if the leaked specs and photos be true, I guess Xperia P is much better specs-wise and, of course, in design. The S III has some edge though, with its AMOLED display, larger battery and Android 4.1. But then again, with Samsung's proven marketing strategy, this phone may be a blockbuster even if there are other better options like the Xperia P.

Anway, thanks for the info!

Amoled display has no edge over other displays, it's just over hyped garbage.

Yo, chill down. This is my personal preference, but I'm not saying I like OLEDs than LCDs. What I want to say is, if the screen of the S III mini would be like the Galaxy S, then I would prefer it over the screen of the Xperia P. If the screen comparison was between the Galaxy S's and an S-LCD 2, no doubt I'd choose the latter. I hope that clears it, let's not waste another page of nonsense.

Android 4.2 being tested on the Xperia arc S?

There have been a number of reports over the last few days of an Android 4.2 build being detected in website server logs. Whether this is a completely new build of Android (Key Lime Pie) or a new version of Jelly Bean is an unknown right now. We first saw the report from Android Police, but what piqued our interest is when Android Authority talked about finding reports of a Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S running the software.

HUGE NEWS HOPE ITS TRUE
HOPE 2011 phones will get JB atleast.

Unfortunately, I has a play with XV the other day, unfortunately, the photos are still as noisy as before. The LCD however, is impressive. I compared with my GX, and found that the colour is much brighter, but not as saturated as Samy's.

I think Sony is working to test all their phones using the new versions, but while testing some they might decide that it will be better to not to offer the upgrade, like the Play where they were testing ICS, and even made a public alpha for it, but they decided not to do so because of the effect of performance issues with games which is a priority for that device...

They might test 4.2 on all 2011 devices or at least the high-end ones but they might or might not upgrade these devices... but what I hope is to upgrade at least arc, neo and arc S as these are the high-end phones and all are based on the same platform, except the arc s which has the same platform but the SoC is a newer patch with optimized for higher clock using the same power consumption... but all the rest are exactly the same...

While testing they might see which is better to upgrade them to 4.1 or skip it to 4.2 depending on total work required for the jump from 4.1 to 4.2... and I hope if there's a possibility to do it I hope they skip 4.1 directly to 4.2...

Hmmm. I'm not too happy about that to be frank.
