Yep, something like TF3D2 from
Months ago I made a post about why SE doesn't use Windows CE as a base and develop a complete UI over it (Kinda like the Meizu M8, only better). If they do exactly that, I for one would be really happy. |

Don't think so, honestly. Never saw a self-respecting company doing that and SE can put their last resources in other things |

Unless I'm gravely mistaken, WinMo itself is built upon the WindowsCE core, Dominick. |

No no, no OS. Just the UI. Basically a shell that utilizes the WinCE Kernel. From what I understand, SE aims to do the same with Android, right? |

Afaik they are doing a TF3D like thing for Android. I think it'll be the same with WinMo. |

UI's should be part of the cooperate identity and therefor as important as the external design of any handset - companies tend to forget this. |

Nokia E72 and 5530 XpressMusic were announced today.
Will SE counter with its own QWERTY and touchscreen Walkman phone on Wednesday?

Indeed. 4 months down the line, they'd forget all about these phones and launch another batch that has little resemblance to their predecessors/ sister models. This whole "Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" strategy wouldn't do them a lot of good when it comes to long term customer loyalty, IMO.
Nokia and SE are good at keeping that "family feel" throughout their product lines and this is why we see a lot of people sticking up for these two brands. |

Nokia and SE have gone too far with software development especially in java - samsung and LG can't beat them there. not even now. it's pretty frustrating that i can't even play my favorite fishlabs games on a Samsung or LG phone not because of the lack of proper keypads or whatsoever but because they lack alot of libraries found on any nokia or SE phone. lets take for example project capuchin and the Java3dmicroedition API that effectively shows how j2me gaming can be much more enjoying and better.

I may head down there tomorrow. Is the SE announcement a private function? |
