To clear up those who are confused:
Sony WILL be at MWC in the form of a booth but Sony WILL NOT be having a press conference to announce new products.
Whether or not Sony will just put the new gear on the stand is up in the air but very rarely has any company not had a press conference but gone on to have new stuff on their stands anyway.
The last I heard was that the announcement of dogo/huashan (possibly others) will be at a dedicated event in March. This is to minimize the announcement to release time.

Oh, okay. So no Sony, Samsung, HTC already announced HTC One and LG did too with Optimus G Pro. Just some mid-range and low-ends from those companies sans Sony, and some biggies from Asus and the Chinese. Not that excited now for MWC. |

Here's what Xperia Blog posted a while back under comments :
There's no confirmed press confference that we're aware of, but it doesn't stop the company launching lower-end to mid-range handsets without fanfare. If we see no announcement next week, then expect an ad hoc announcement in the next few months. |

Fine, let's just wait for MWC then. |

I personally think that Sony will upgrade Xperia Z to Snapdragon 600 version of Xperia Z,just like Xperia SL to Xperia S. |

I am more worried about the weight that xperiablog states:
"Xperia SP will be heavier at 155 grams (ZL: 151g)"
This seems insane that a smaller phone is so ridiculously heavy and I really hope this is false. |

Since Sony & other manufactures depend Qualcomm SoC chipset they won't be able to make only 1 Flagship every year.
because the availability of Qualcomm new chipset is always in the Second Half of the year. While the competition between the companies is usually at the beginning of the year.
so there will be always 1H\2H flagship ...
No, this is the last year. I know for fact.

@maiaramdan @Ambivalent
it won't be possible believe me !
as I already stated about Qualcomm chipset and its availability has been always for 2H of each year.
and Sony will always launch their Flagship at CES ... if it's going to have Only 1 Flagship then it'll always fail in competition ..

Yep. It seems Sony is confident about hosting their own solo event, if that's what would happen. |

[OT]Finally, an LTE Chip That Will Work Anywhere in the World
Qualcomm has announced something that will make travellers everywhere very happy: a new radio chipset that can support every LTE network in the world.
More accurately, the RF360 chips provides connectiviry for LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, WCDMA, EV-DO, CDMA 1x, TD-SCDMA and GSM/EDGE networks. That should be enough, though, as it currently covers every LTE network in use across the globe.
That'll be of interest to manufacturers and consumers alike. Not only will it make travelling easier, it will allow companies to make a single phone to ship around the world, instead of having to make different phones for different markets. Qualcomm also claims that the RF360 (which isn't the chip pictured above) wll provide improved antenna performance, battery life and connection reliability, too—but those improvements are likley margina

Guys do you think sony will face any shortness in using Old Snapdragon chipset While Qualcomm already release Snapdragon 200400.
is Sony now planing to adopt new Snapdragon 200/400 chipset in their mid-range headsets ?
is it what make Sony delays the launch of mid-range headset .. until unknown time ?!
what do you think ?!

From Engadget:
"Sony has a press event on Monday morning, but the company has kept relatively quiet about it. At this point, we'd assume the Xperia Tablet Z, announced a little over a month ago, will be on display, but nothing else has been officially teased at this point. Granted, it wouldn't take us by surprise at all if we learn that Sony has a couple mid-range or low-end Xperia phones ready to go for the show -- after all, there are still a few letters in the alphabet that haven't been used yet."

In this case I believe ramu more than engadget. I think they interpreted some info wrong.
