No more phones for 2012, is this confirmed?
AFAIK yes. Unless the Xperia Nexus is a really well guarded secret.
I hope for this.
@randomuser: This is question that may be really hard to answer, but if you have any possible info about it, please do: How the pricing is going to be, for the Odin (Nozomi made the phone looks gorgeous, but Odin makes it looks really powerful) and the Q3-4 (H2, right?) flaghship? More expensive than XS/XT were at their launch or same price?
I don't get people. Never Have, never will. |

As far as pricing goes, the 2013 devices will cost slightly more than S/T/V. On par with other flagships, for a change. Since the last two years /Sony flagships have been cheaper than true flagships from Samsung, HTC etc. 2013 that will change.

Just like their VAIO laptops - absolutely nothing spectacular as features, but cost twice as much as a Dell laptop with same or similar specifications, for example.

Dell have burned me far more than Sony have when it comes to Laptops and for the longest time they've been the only OEM to offer 1600x900 displays as standard on their notebooks instead of the horrid 1366x768 most OEM's chuck out.
Beyond that, the price disparity is no longer what it once was. More and more OEM's are charging premium prices for their notebooks these days. Particularly after Intel created the Ultrabook niche.
This is hugely off-topic anyway.

I'm pretty sure he means that:
Nozomi = a beautiful sounding name => sexy looking phone
Odin = powerful sounding name (name of a Norse god and all) => powerful phone.
I could be wrong but that was my take on it.

Exactly. Thanks. Sorry randomuser, for the confusion.
About prices, I understand. I don't know how my future gonna be, but may change my XS somewhere on late 2013. Until there, many of their phones will be already released, so I will have a better vision of my choices, and maybe the price could drop a little.
@feryshad: Sony optimizations gonna rule the Optimus G, I'm sure of that. There is also the awesome screen and design.

I have worked 4 years in Dell repair center, I know a lot about the quality of their products. And what kind of user support you get.

What does this have to do with phones?
And what is it that you have against Sony. You hate them to an almost unrealistic degree. |

@randomuser, I got some more curiosity, that would be nice if you have the answers, if not, don't worry:
1) Does the Odin (it's the 5 inch one, right?) will be available in white and/or light silver colors?
2) Does it will use MHL or HDMI? I'd rather the second one...
3) Does it will have any proof? Not necessary like Acro S, but something like Xperia Tablet S?
4) About the package, I know mostly it depends on the market, but any info if it will still have the stock not so good headphones, or anything better? MHL adapter already on box? Xperia NFC Tags (that if they will keep investing on them)?
I thinks it's that for now. Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Felipe

Not really. LG Optimus G will be available globally only next year. So both Sony and LG will have S4 Quad phones around the same time. |

I'm not @randomuser, but I guess I can answer some of these
1) it's too early to know colors, I believe they're still investigating the final design including colors and materials; I bet they already have multiple prototypes now... (@randomuser : did you saw any )
2) I bet it will be MHL, All makers are moving away from HDMI to MHL... we like it or not
3) This thing is I can't answer, @randomuser might have the answer and might be able to answer you... but looking for Sony, I don't think it will have any proof, unless they change it in the end when they saw the attention to the proof phones...
4) Headphones I think it will be the same or newer version... They won't afford higher price while they know some guys won't even use them !! regarding the MHL adapter it will depend on the market, the NFC tags I believe will be there.. but all of these might change even in the last minute so don't count on any thing...

LG Optimus G will be available before next year and prob other (specially HTC) will show device with Quad S4 at MWC ...
Sony must be doing something different if they want going to be Number 1. like samsung (own SoC , own Display , Own Event and one specially model like galaxy s series , ...
in my opinion first step (and huge one) can be own SoC by buying ST-E or even TI ...

Sony can't just buy ST-E or TI. Things aren't that easy. Currently the APQ8064 looks like it will represent the standard for next year. Though I do agree that they should use something like the NovaThor U9600 (2x Cortex A15 and PowerVR series 6 " Rogue" graphics) or something similar. |
