If phone is off the alarm will not work... Only thing you can do is put the phone on flight mode, which is close to being off...

By removing it I'd say you're asking for trouble. The original one is factory fitted - perfectly. At least wait until the original one shows some wear n tear before risking removing it.
Sorry to go on.
I don't know SE already had a pre-installed screen protector on X10 before I purchased the Martin Fields....... |

I agree with goldenface. The screen is brilliant. I may or may not take it off. My only concern right now are the back and sides of the phone as I have the white version and don't want that beautiful glossy finish scratched up!
the alarm will not work if the phone is powered off. it will work in silent mode if you set it that way, and it will work if the screen is off or in flight mode.

The original screen protector was quickly out of order (because of me I admit) et I had no screen protector in the box
I always put the phone in my jackets pocket... so I really don't know how it happened.

I'm with moogoo and goldenface n leaving on the original protector. I didn't want to have to shoddily apply my own and I don't want my screen scratched at all, even if they say it's scratch resistant I wouldn't risk my baby.
@moogoo I felt really nervous about scratching the glossy white casing on mine too, then at the weekend last I dropped it, whilst pissed at a wedding, chatting up the most beautiful girl I've ever seen (at least with the beer goggles on) and the back came off. It finally stopped bouncing around face down. I was mortified. Surprisingly the damage wasn't as bad as I expected. It stood up to it quite well. just two very small dinks and not a scratch on the screen. I think this shows the quality of the plastics they've used and the quality of the standard screen protector. Still, I won't be rushing to drop it again.

My phone survived a day at last.
It stands at %29 after moderate usage through the day.
Love it

I have a problem with MMS. This problem also happened to all my friends' X10 in Indonesia, whatever the providers are.
I cannot download the content of MMS.
The message was received, but the content/picture cannot be viewed. When I tried to download it, it always says download unsuccessful.
Sending MMS is sometimes successful but often failed also.
I hope this problem will be fixed in next firmware update. The 16 firmware version is not available yet for my country.

Have you tried going to SE support and download the MMS settings for your phone yet?
if not, then just do that, choose your country, phone model, operator service and download and install.
First thing I did when I got my phone is this, I didn't bother to check if there was a MMS problem prior, so I can't guarantee that it'll fix your problem, but it's worth a try. |

As someone already stated, the pre-applied screen protector is more then that, it is a shatter proof seal, you should treat is a part of the screen and apply a separate screen protector. |

Dear All,
Two encouraging bits of news from GSMA, not sure where else to post them other than here, sorry if they are a bit OT:
1. 60% of all Android Apps are free, vs 25% on "competing platforms"

2. Froyo will Auto-Update core apps... I am hopeful that the next big update due September(ish) will bring Froyo, as the timescales seem to knit quite well:

Fingers crossed eh? |

Regarding the multitouch issue, etc..:

X10 isn't using a ClearPad solution. Just spoke with Synaptics about it. The X10 Mini (and only X10 Mini), however, is using the ClearPad 2000 solution with dual touch.
