typing for me is definitely ZERO issue and i type pretty damn fast.

Whether MT will come or not later, is really of no concern for me. The only time I think I would use it would be for games and honestly, i tend to play puzzle/strategy games more and don't have the need for MT. Screen brightness is absolutely amazing and there is no perceivable lack in color in every day use.

For me the only things I would have liked to have been better: An actual LED flash, more RAM. That's about it. Otherwise, I think it's a perfect device for me. I'm hoping with future software updates to both android and the UX interface, it will become even MORE perfect. FOr me at least, I hope for the following software improvements:

Camera: Better face recognition, manual tagging of photos for when FR simply can't/won't work, ability to manually associate any photo(s) with any contact(s) (not just ones that the FR can detect faces).

Timescape: Ability to add more services (i.e., google buzz, rss feeds, flickr photo streams), different views (i.e., simple list view instead of the tiles, which could mean faster performance and more usability)

Mediascape: Quicker photo browsing (maybe via a 3D wall like on the mini), lock screen music controls, flickr integration,
ability to add other online music stores/services such as amazon mp3 service.

@RickyD - yes that was mean.. haha.

I have a feeling there could be a lot of big UI changes/enhancements when the X10 gets the Android 2.x update. For now I'd be happy with the .16 firmware. I love this phone more every time I pick it up.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the X10 has an onscreen QWERTY keyboard only or can you swap to an Alphanumeric keyboard for SMS, EMAIL etc?

I know this is an option on the Satio.

Thanks

About the relation between on screen keyboard and multi-touch, I will try to upload a video here while I am typing on Iphone 2G and HTC Dream.

At best that would only prove HTC Dream is poorly implemented, not whether ST is slower than MT in general.

I have yahoo email set up on mine so it is supported. It set it up automatically.

Just use the email app, press menu button and add account.

@rss_ndrsn

I know and that's why I mentioned the 5MP camera, as a quick glance at GSMA shows this as the spec of the Galaxy which should be out fairly soon. They only list it expected Q2/coming soon.

You lot are such teases taunting others with this beautiful phone, I will try my best not to do that too much once I get it...

Congrats to everyone who has bought this phone and is loving it . I was torn between this and the desire, or waiting a few months and seeing what iphone 4g/ samsung galaxy s brings. I've got a desire on the way to me, with 7 days to decide because htc sense interface would be more useful to me personally, but in all truth, I'm starting to think I would rather enjoy the larger screen and nicer form factor of the x10. Could anybody with this phone tell me how well this phone handles video files? I'm coming from a samsung i8910 hd, which handles multimedia pretty well.

because RealPlayer installed separately from factor i8910hd have an edge in various format in video department
anyway I preferred to convert all of video to fit device before watch it bit not comfortable but not matter for me.

Hi Guys,

In need of a little more help.
I bought my x10 in white from Orange in the UK. Just tried to use my Vodafone SIM and its asking for a Unlock PIN.

What are my options?

1. Will Flashing with the UK generic X10i firmware do the trick? (I currently have X10i)
If I do this will I still be able to receive software updates? I read concerns about this on the de-branding thread.

2. Do I buy a Code?
Am I safe to try the codes in Xperia_Man's thread?
CCK:
NCK:
NSCK:
SPCK:

If so how do I enter these characters, when on my phone where its now asking for the Unlock PIN only a keypad shows? (This is with my other network SIM card in the phone)

Many Thanks to anyone who answers this.

Those are not codes, if you apply for an unlocking code you will get 4 codes.....1 for CCK, 1 for NCK etc.....i got the 4 codes and just input the NCK code and all apperas to be fine as we speak. The codes supplied are all numerical so you will not need to input any letters. I got my code from here : http://www.unlock-sony.com/ took about 4 days

Hope this helps

@Craig

Thanks very much fo your prompt reply!

The above are not codes? haha what a Noob i am! No idea what they stand for.

I would rather not pay for a code, I think its bullsh*t. The phone is clearly advertised as Quadband.

Anyway, can I ask why you chose to purchase a code rather than to de-brand?

ok, so I've probably missed something here (and I've searched) but .... my X10
doesn't seem to be adding tags for face recognition ... any thoughts ?

It's a UK, unbranded version.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I debranded and purchased an unlock code.......debranding will not allow the use of another networks sim card. In the case of the x10 and orange branding you will not really see any difference after the debrand.......orange have not changed a great deal, but you will be running generic firmware and so will get updates as soon as they are available and not have to wait for orange to get there firmware approved etc.

Regards
