Sorry to say that I wont be bothering with the C905.
The 2 issues that make it a no go for me are no torch ( AGAIN! ) & its a slider.
Looks like the old K750I will be staying in my pocket for a while longer yet.
I was in the same situation, upgrading from my old K750i. I agree about the lack of torch feature as I used it quite a lot before. However, the step up from K750i to the C905 is great functionality wise. You'll get so many other features that have been developed during the last 3.5 years. There are some very silly limitations on the K750i, e.g. you can only store 10 codes and a very limitied number of notes plus only one alarm with simple functionality.... and there are lots more.
I don't regret at all chosing this phone and it's quite easy to get used to the slider function.
Shame about the lack of torch function on the C905, I carry enough stuff around in my pockets at work without the need to carry a separate torch as well. |

I have the c905 for over a week and as much as i try to convince myself... the quality of the photos are just disappointing. I have also been using T model camera for over 6 years but the c905 is even worse than my T1. Flash is better than any other phone, but the quality just doesn't do it. I know many people will get upset at what I have said (including myself as I have been a fan of SE for many years). But that being said, the phone is fast and with wifi, its one of the better SE phone out there.... but this phone really cannot replace a point and shoot camera... |

Thanks for that, it does seem to help but it's annoying you have to go into that before hand every time you want to use GPS tracking.
I am bemused at people comments about the picture quality as I have a i8510 too & the C905 isn't that far off that as far as I am concerned.

No camphone will ever get remotely near even the cheapest half decent digicam, Camphones use cheap/nasty CMOS sensors, plastic fixed focal distance lenses, (non ASP elements), tiny buffers, honestly i could go on forever.

The new Sharp 8MP cameraphones don't, from what I have read they use an 8MP CCD sensor taken from their camera division.

That's just not true, I compare my C905 pics to my Canon Powershot 3.2mp pics and the c905 pics are better on average.
I don't know dumbdumb, my phone has taken fantastic photos, my anti-cameraphone wife is now sold on only taking the phone when we need to take pics. I am truly blown away with my C905's quality. When I bought my k790i it needed about a years worth of tweaking, firmwares and camdrivers to get it to be a really great phone, but the C905 has been great right out of the box. |

i ask my question one more time.
is it possible that this super-great Flickr.com pictures is taken with a different cam-module (early beta-cam-module something) ????
or is it (as i think) just a different firmwares who make them so damn super-great ??
someone ???
it was some talk about 2 different cam modules some months ago...remember.

Am I missing something here?
Just checked on FOTA and using SEUS.
R1BA038 is still the newest right, at least for:
CID52 CUSTOMIZED UNITED KINGDOM WESTERN-EUROPE
Not for other regions??

Mine look great, so I don't think so.
The Canon is 7-8 years old, but it was a $400 camera when new with fantastic reviews regarding its image quality.
I must add a caveat, that I look at pictures with Picasa, never larger then fullscreen, I think people may get caught up on blowing up the pic to 100% detail, which I think makes little sense unless you plan on printing a poster and looking at that poster up close, or unless you plan to digitally zoom the image (the Innov8 may be superior under this type of use). I know people get caught up on a lot of unimportant things when it comes to photo quality, I think the C905 can hang with most 5mp point and shoots. The FHM C905 ad makes pretty clear that the C905 takes some damn good photos with great detail at that size. |
