I will take a "siddon look" posture for now. Amby will notify me if it is safe to go online with MTN GPRS! Browsing with my pc is about the only useful thing I see in MTN GPRS.
Meanwhile Vmobile MMS settings are: send "mmsgprs" to 184 ... though I doubt if anyone here is tripped with MMS after we had enjoyed Glo MMS for months. |

Folks, lets not rejoice yet over free gprs from MTN.They didnt announce any free unless I missed out on something.I called their CC 2 demand 4 a refund of d money I lost told they it'll be looked into.I think those guyz r having a serious problem with their billing system.

You seem to have missed the fact that MTN is yet to announce commencement of billing. The billing furore has been more of speculation than fact. Yes; every now and then someone's airtime disappears, but that can simply be the result of a software glitch or the like, and not necessarilly a deliberate effort to bill GPRS usage.
For now, its free at most people's end - enjoy it while it lasts. |

@ihe: their billing platform was not in place by that date. As such, it wont be out of place to expect a formal announcement.

Well, MTN GPRS is working and still unbilled here. Buit its quite slow - much slower than what we used to have. But its my rescue line now.
I have a presentation this afternoon and my PC crashed yesterday. Lost a few files, as we had to format and re-install yesterday. Now I am using MTN GPRS to download some of the vital files and applications I lost and that are vital to today's presentation. I'm glad its available for use; I only wish it were much zippier. I'm downloading 22mb of material!
