Got a Z1 on contract coming tomorrow, I just hope they improve the camera on this phone because it's not as good as what they claim it to be, hope I don't regret my choice.

^ even though the camera hasn't YET lived upto the hype it is still the best Android camera phone and with 4.3 ready to roll out this month and 4.4 in the new year it can only get better just like the development of the camera in the Xperia Z, it wasn't great to begin with but it is great now with future updates easily matching the S4 and other high end devices in terms of image quality.

I hope so, technically this shouldn't match the S4, it should destroy it with an F2.0 aperature, wide angle lens and a big sensor with 20.7MP.

I was comparing the Z to the S4 the Z1 does beat the S4 in still images the S4's low light image quality is very poor the Z1 walks all over it personally.

Check out this shootout the Z1 wins even when using superior auto mode which we know has a maximum resolution of 8MP and all the others are shot at maximum resolution.

that's an old shootout with original firmware i think.

i'm really looking forward to the 4.3 update!

so far no hints as to new features or changes yet.. sigh. wish they'd give us something to look forward to but i guess they are still working on it til the last minute and don't want to give false hope for features they aren't sure are gonna be there yet..

still.. a lil hint at the major changes that are DEFINITELY gonna be there would be nice.. along with some surprises saved for later.

@Moogoo that shootout was from back in September so any new updates have only made the camera even better and again the shootout uses SA mode rather than manual which we know produces even better images. Roll on 4.3 I so hope they introduce a shutter speed option for the camera.

Also when using HHT on my QX10 it takes 6 images (I can actually hear the the camera taking the shots) and produces one high res lowlight image could Sony implement this in to the 4.3 update on the Z1. Also the XQ10 takes much better low light shots than the Z1 in this mode

good to know about the HHT with your QX10.

do we know for sure if HHT in the Z1 doesn't already do this?

I haven't taken many photos lately.. mostly cause i haven't had too much to take pics of. i'm sure none of you really want to see pics of my pets all the time..

I'm planning a road trip in a few weeks so i should have PLENTY Of photos from that to share I'm kinda hoping the update will come before my trip.

I would not expect any changes in stuff like the camera with android version updates I think it would cause complications if bugs were encountered, camera updates may follow if the 4.3 seems stable
