you can choose a wallpaper for the external display, which is probably what the picture on the SE site is trying to show

no, I mean there is a setting in the display settings for specifiying a wallpaper image for the external display
as for unlocking, just ask vodafone. they gave me the unlock code over the phone for my P910 and the V800. you might get lucky too!

yes, free... I just asked nicely and told them I work in Germany during the week and even though I have a good vodafone UK spend I still like to use a foreign sim card
can't tell you any more than that

hey all, i noticed when i try putting a custom picture (about 20kb) for my v800 background the phone becomes laggy, pausing for a smalll time every second or so.
anybody noticed that?
also, what about creating custom programs for v800? is it possible? |

unlock means making the phone sim free. It will not change the (branded) firmware of the phone in any way.

my phone is not noticibly slower with wallpapers or even animated wallpapers. then again i don't have much memory filled either, as that might cause the phone to slow down as well?

@masseur So when you unlocked the V800 did it work ok with another sim card? I am going to try it with them tomorrow, seeing as our company has a corporate account with Voda. I will try the do you know who I am tactic. |

actually I didn't get as far as trying another sim card as I didn't get to bring it to germany with me having decided already not to keep it. I see no reason why it wouldn't work since all the locks were then open although you are stuck with certain predefined vodafone accounts etc

U r the only one wth a review... theres not even anyother review yet for V800.. im like waiting for the rest to catch up wth some reviews...
anyone wth a pic taken by V800 in the dark using the flashlights.... wanna know if its useful... coz i heard S700 flash light is basically useless.... |

I haven't seen any other reviews myself and though I didn't include a night shot in my review I did take a few (which unfortunately I didn't keep).
the light seems brighter than the MPF-10 flash (I have no experience with the S700) but still has much the same useful distance, i.e. not very far, perhaps 2-3m and the colours aren't that great when taken with the flash.

Whats the deal with the MP3 ringtones and the V800? Does it suppoort normal ring tones that you get off the internet? or do you have to do some type of conversion process?
