I am actual very excited about Sony's new phone! Though, I am slightly not too happy about how big their bottom and top bezel. There better be a reason for it. Now, is it me or, there's no finger print reader on the the Ultra and Premium? Think it's going to be underneath the screen those? If not, it's kind of odd that they won't have a reader for their high end. I'm hoping that the Ultra gets a 4K screen too.

I really hope Sony activates the fingerprint sensor on XZ Premium american version so I can finally buy the phone when it goes for sale on Bestbuy. Even though I badly want the phone, the lack of fingerprint sensor is a big deal-breaker for me.

Plus, i also hope that 6gb RAM and 128gb ROM are put on the device as standard features to justify the Premium branding and also the market price.

Another thing, I hope the speakers and audio output of XZ P are actually louder and have better quality than Z5 Premium. It is one way to justify big bezels of the phone.

With regards to camera, i hope the overall camera app UI is faster and more stable, and does not heat up the phone. Also, image processing issue such as noise and artifacts are addressed. Plus more functionality like full manual setting(ability to change each setting at the same time, not just one), up to 10 seconds limit for manual exposure, improve manual focus (like Samsung's), raw picture mode (even though it is slightly processed, that's fine), mute button on video recording (i really hate that my Xperia X Perf does not have this) and microphone choices.

Lastly, i hope the phone has bigger battery and gives longer screen time, and the better heat management. I love. my Xperia X Perf but battery is just ok and wish it lasted longer. And it gets hot as well when i play vainglory on lte from full charge 'till about 20%. The temperature reaches 52℃ and sometimes the 2 faster CPU's get shutdown. i really hope XZ does not have this issue and have longer battery life.

Before I forget, Sony please include an official Quickcharge 4.0 charger in the retail box and extra USB type c cord if possible.

The hardware is present, only software is disabled...so just flash a different region firmware and you'll have fingerprint management...no big deal really

Not sure if this is good news or bad news, but seems like the Premium would be an 821 device. At least according to Phonearena's article, though there's no source:

xz premium looks great. i like that the back is one solid piece instead of 2 tone of different materials like the xz. would be nice if it's all metal and not covered in glass. but i hope the camera lens AND the sensor array is covered in glass.

@rss_ndrn - as others have said.. you just have to flash it to a different region and you'll get your fingerprint sensor. sony cannot include it in the US, most likely due to patent reasons. probably something involving fingerprint scanner in a power button.

with a 4K screen, the battery should be much bigger. if sony slams 6gb or am and has an 128gb variant, the premium will be the phone to beat in 2017. But, knowing sony they will likely keep it at 4gb ram and 64gb max.

very tempting to swap it out with my XZ... hmmmmmmm

Looks very good, though Sony should still work on the top & bottom bezels. not to say they're really bad (to other these are really bad, but for me not that much bad).. but from a design perspective they better be thinner...

The new Sony sensor is the only thing that make the new XZ line interesting. The rest is just underwhelming.

XZ Premium lacks a lot of features I hoped for so it won't be my new phone after all.

Any info on the next XZ Premium? Will it be this year?

What did you expect?

I guess there won't be any new Premium this year.
