W910i Firmware/Bug Overview |

I am back again to share my experience in the R1EA033 firmware that I updated last week. I am quite amazed at the increase in battery power after updating to R1EA033. Right now my battery meter shows 16% and it's been more than 4.5 days since my last full charge (it's going to be 5 full days when I wake up tomorrow morning at this rate).
I have not noticed any new bugs with firmware R1EA033, and everything seem to be working fine for me (camera, walkman, call, text, etc..). Also, the menus scrolling seems a bit smoother/faster, but it's not a major boost in speed (still a bit of lag but since R1EA030 walkman function already run significantly faster compared to R1CA029).
Ridiculous battery drain was the only issue that I was experiencing when I was on R1EA030, therefore I can not speak on behalf of everyone that may have experienced different problems with their customized firmware.
What I have said above ties to this Customization/CDA#:
1201-4321 R10A
1200-5451 R1EA033
APAC-AZN
Take Care, hope updated firmware become available to you soon and fixes the problems you are experiencing. |

Did almost waste 25 Euro to update to 033. First I re flashed it to generic firmware, but SEUS don't even want update the phone coz it says it has the new one, even it was on R3C, try later again with customz via davinciteam, then try later via SEUS and updated to R3EA033..
I hope battery time is much better than R3EA030.. my hope.. |

I really wish you good luck Silver, hope your R1EA033 upgrade can help improve your battery problems. With today's busy life schedule and technology like bluetooth battery life is really the key to mobility. |

I have also noticed battery life is about 50% longer than before.I can get nearly 3 days of heavy use out of the phone now wheras about a day before.Bluetooth connection between the W910 and HBH-GV435 is better now with no disconnection while on a call. still have to set my theme everytime i restart the phone though and media is still a bit slow when played through bluetooth.

Have tried moving the theme over to the phone memory but still get the same thing happen. If i use any theme other than the default ones. When i turn the phone off and back on again the phone loads the Walkman theme and I have to set my theme again regardless weather its in the phone memory or the memory stick. Both of my Silky White W910's do this.

remove M2 from the phone then set your theme if the problem continues backup your phone and try Master reset-Reset settings if nothing try Master reset-Reset all |

Have tried doing that on my other W910 and still no different.Even did a full erase of the phone software and complete reinstall and reflash via Davinci but still the same. Can't be the phone as i have 2 08W14 W910's and also an 07W43 W910 that show the same problem. All 3 phones have a 4gb memory stick in them and the memory sticks have also been checked in other phones and work fine when setting themes.

Same here every time i go to look at the phone there's a good chance it's back to default (resetting itself - taking to doing it with no warning)
However I'm finding it a lot more stable than R1DA038 was, and this time i can start the phone with the 8gb card inside, so slowly climbing back up to 2000+songs

i bet you removed the ask for the pin code at startup.
If you put somethin at startup like the pin code, the flight mode, or an animation the theme won't reset to default walkman. |

If I have the option to choose Flight Mode at startup enabled it still happens.
The phone has never asked for a pin on startup and the pin settings have never been messed with. Dont know about phones from other countries but UK sim free ones never ask for a pin code on startup unless the user enables it after the 1st startup of the phone.
The phone starts up with the default animation (flashy walkman startup thing).
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose |

Rookwise: I actually have been looking at the HBH-GV435 and HBH-GV435a SE bluetooth headset, and because it's not a cheap buy I really would like to know if it works well with w910i.
Anyone that has experience with the HBH-GV435 is welcome to share your thoughts:
-What is the difference between HBH-GV435 and HBH-GV435a?
-Which performs better?
-Is call quality decent? or you get a lot of static...
-Do the bluetooth lose signal when left idle inside your pocket for a period of time?
Your thoughts on this topic would be appreciated |

The GV-435a is just a slightly updated version of the GV-435. The 435a has slightly better battery life and promises it will have fewer dropped connections than previous bluetooth models.
On the 030 firmware I found that the GV-435 dropped the call connection after 3 minutes and there was a 1 minute delay before the W910 prompted that the connection had been lost. Never had any problems when it's connected to my K810, K850, P1i, W960, W380 or S500. Since updating to 033. Call connectivity has improved and have managed a 12 minute call with no interruption in connection.
Sound quality on the GV-435 is excellent. I've not experienced any static and the auto volume adjust works fine.
I've been thinking of updating to the 435a myself and the 435 is an excellent headset. I've had my 435 for 8 months now and its showing signs of wear. Its survived a few drops as well.
If I could fault the headset it would be that it does not fit very well if you wear glasses (I do) as the rear of the headset does not sit correctly behind the ear creating a loose fitting. This can cause the headset to fall off if you turn your head sharply. This is not just the the GV-435 that has this problem though as I've experienced this with many of my bluetooth headsets in the past.
I would say go for the GV-435 as they can be bought quite cheaply from play.com and Ebay but if you want the most up to date and prefer the Grey/Black colour then go for the 435a.
