Aww god thats a shitter then,
have you made any enquiry about how much it would cost to fix through a Apple store?
if you got it fixed and resell you might pocket alot from it

For anyone who wants to jailbreak 1.1.3 here ya go:
http://cre.ations.net/blog/post/iphone-113-jailbreak-released
(Does not work on an out of the box iPhone on 1.1.3 or if you have already updated to 1.1.3, you must have either 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 as this jailbreak app updates it to 1.1.3 in the process)

I have recently gained a cheap iPhone 1.0.2 (again). It was already unlocked and jailbroken. I have installed apptapinstaller and got into a tricky situation..
Installer is offering me an update to version 3.0b8. When i select that and press update (yes) it starts downloading and on the end says Error - Package file size mismatch! I cannot see anything in Install section. I have tried over Edge as i did over WiFi.
People say that happens sometimes and that it is best to wait a few hours or days. Some suggest updating software/firmware. Now here is where the trick comes into play. I don` know the way my iPhone was unlocked since i have not done it. How do i know if my 1.0.2 was unlocked with AnySIM?
I guess just upgrading via iTunes to 1.1.1 / 1.1.2 includes a great risk of bricking the phone. Am i just paranoid or is there some truth to what i have just said. What versions are you using and what do you recommend me to do?
Keep in mind that i am not able to install BSD Subsystem nor OpenSSH, due to the empty install section in Installer. Also can`t access via WinSCP due to the lack of BSD and SSH.
Greetings, David.

Hiya everyone... just trying this on my 1.1.1 iphone (FCC US)... I had it up on 1.1.2 previous and tried do the Nate upgrade... basically that was a nightmare when I tried to downgrade....
I have just seen this....
http://www.macrumors.com/iphone/2008/01/28/ijailbreakmobile-1-0/
Which takes you to http://ijailbreak.com/
Gulp... basically it should take you from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3 without use of a pc... what am i saying.. without the use of a mac ....
Will report back... on whether it is successful or not... if not... I have my old trusty Sony CMD Z7 glowing in a lovely recharging orange across the room

UPDATE:
Just ran the process described in the above websites...
It does run... but reboots after 10mins or so returning as if nothing has happened.... Still on 1.1.1

Can anyone confirm the following for me:
1) I went to an oxford street based company who unlock iphones. The chap told me that any phone sold after Nov 9th 2007 could only be unlocked using a software and turbo sim method. It can not be done using software unlocking alone?
Thanks |

pretty much.. if the firmware is 1.1.2 OTB (out of the box) it can't be unlocked via software... you can use the sim mod. (there is a hardware unlock out that requires opening the phone)
1.1.3 OTB can't be unlocked either with any method yet..
1.1.1 and below are the best phones right now...

Yes I think DragonEye is correct.... the websites offering unlocking for payment have been advertising 1.1.2 out of the box unlocking coming soon since the UK launch... and nothing has appeared yet...

Just an update....
After the 3rd attempt... The process for upgrading from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3 described an available via download to the iphone without the need of mac/pc from http://ijailbreak.com/
has been successful for me... one issue seen so far... that the previews of the songs on the iTunes store are unable to play at the moment....
Apparently there is method to upgrade an unlocked 1.1.2 to an unlocked 1.1.3 using the same method...
UPDATE : TOO MANY BUGS...
The alarm sound did not work... GPRS stopped working... some itunes purchased songs did not work... back to 1.1.1 again... for a while I suggest..

Yes i think you can get Hotmail as long as it has pop3 or imap.
Well i jailbroke my 1.1.2
Cut my SIM to the relevant size
Carefully sandwiched them together in my phone.
Thats about it really.

That sounds good. Do you have to pay extra to get Hotmail via pop3? Anyone had any experiences of using Hotmail on the iphone? Thanks |
