@deliciosomarron: Yes, as far as I'm aware a D750 is the same hardware so it should be perfectly possible. You just need to find someone with a copy of Cruiser.

please do not ask stupid requests to share cruiser/firmwares etc etc.

To flash yourself you will need the software Cruiser, a servicecable and access to the supportserver holding the firmwares.
Cruiser is a commercial software that you buy if you are a proffesional unlocker, it comes in a package with the above mentioned and 1 years acces to the firmware server and costs 200-400 euros

Naturally noone who has paid for this package as part of their unlockingbusiness would share it for free to any fool who wants to do it himself but dont want to spend the money on either the equipment or the small cost of letting the unlocker do his business.

If people desperately need to do this themselves, then simply visit the website for cruiser and buy the tools and software needed.

@numb: Well said

Having said that though, no doubt soon Multiserver/Davinci will release the flash files so it will be available at a much lower cost to people.

According to an email that I received from www.premiergsm.com (Cruiser reseller in the UK) - this is not available for the end user as it is 'sophisticated professional equipment' :/ ... you'd think it'd be available to anybody that had the dough to pay!!

Anyways, I'm gonna wait for davinci, etc to bring it out, watch for reviews and then decide ... oh Gawd, please make them good ))

Since the K750 supports it, I wonder if SE will enable the flight mode in future firmware releases once they have managed to put together a stable version?

With smartphones starting to take over areas of peoples lives where for many people PDA's used to do the same job, it seems clear to me that flight mode is essential. Especially so for business users who may wish to access data in flight, in hospitals, in conferences and other areas where the phone should not be on.

I'd say the W800 firmware upgrade, in the meantime, is almost essential.

So do let us know when you get it working, gents!

@ muppet

Thanks for the info. I'm going to visit some phoneshops which might have the said software and equipment to "convert" a d750 to a w800 and if all else fails there's always the internet to find someone who's able to do so.

Hi all,

I just got my K750i "upgraded" to W800i (W800i firmware into the K750i). The must be the best of both worlds, the looks of the K750i and the "flightmode" functionality of the W800i.

It works perfectly. I upgraded the firmware to the K750i after the new firmware was released (i.e. R1J). The W800i firmware is R1K001 and seems to have the same functions as R1J for the K750i (two beeps when auto-focus etc). I was a bit worried that the W800i firmware would be full of bugs, but that does not seem like the case.

I won't take time to write a review about it, as there are already some available. Three disappoininting things though:

1) the "music key" (between the softkeys) can not be changed (it always points to the WALKMAN (i.e. MP3-player)). I could have missed where to change the function of the key, though...

2) Some MP3's that could be played with the K750i wont play in the "new phone" some other will. I have used different MP3-encoders for the different MP3's.

3) The 'flight mode' (i.e. "music mode") is not really 'flight mode' as in the P-series. Here one can only use the music player.... but it is good enough to use on those long hauls....

Here are some pictures (proof). The camera I did use didn't have a proper macro mode, thereby the lousy quality (the K750/W800 would have taken much better pics...!).

BTW, I call the phone W750i....

Sligthly new musicplayer

option if the choise of starting the phone or WALKMAN should appear

Start the device as Phone or only music player... (the reason that I "upgraded" the K750i...

yep afaik it is possible and because the w800i firmware is not branded ur d750i should become unbranded and unlocked.
