Whats the point of the K750? |

@Arez, so true
I mean, it's got a real Digital camera. Hell, it even supports exif which is something the K700 and earlier cams don't have. Since the early se cams also don't use sequential file numbering, without exif info it's hard to keep your photos in time sequene if you don't put the date in the name (my file system puts the date for the file as the date I drag it off the camera - not always the same day the pic was taken)
And for users who aren't cam fans, your points about the java access to file system/pim etc is a big plus. It makes the phone just as useful as a smart phone for non-power users (the average joe/joanne)
This is a big step and may even see non-smart phone java platform handsets maintain strong marketshare indefinitely (where as most peeps tend to predict smartphones taking over completely as a fete de compli) |

Wouldn't it be better if you did the comparison with both phones in your hands as opposed to just reading the differences between the two phones. You don't have to buy the phone, I'm sure that there's a shop that you can test the K750 or I'm sure that you know somebody that already owns one.
Reading [and comparing] phone specs as opposed to holding it in your hands are completely different. Plus the fact that you've never used a K750 makes you a little biased towards the K700.
All this thread did is get all the K750 owners all riled up. |

I've read enough of the k750 threads to have a very good idea of peeps experience's with that handset - I did the same thing prior to purchasing my K700i - and the forum's were invaluable at weeding out the handset's that weren't going to be suitable. I have played with those handset's since (the first mpx windows mobile thing, couple of nokias, xda's etc) and still don't regret my purchase of then K700i.
Whatever interface issues that may exist with the K750 that I haven't read about yet won't be sufficient to sway me from the other very real specifications of the phone

I just had to stop back and see if this thread had finally died a rightfully deserved death, considering it should not have been started in the first place, and was started without the poster doing any real research. Anyway, the next time I come past here I hope there is a big red line through the "Reply" link.

Do you have some secret marketing strategy that even SE does not know about? Have you ever heard of Road Map planning? It seems that no matter what phone SE brings out, it will simply not be enough. They should have put a battery in that does not need charging, or why doesn't it have a gazillion megapixel camera. Why not stereo surround speakers, not to mention a mini hd, and a 60 gig MS Duo Pro, all for the price of 50 Euros.
Said with as much sarcasm as I could muster.

I disagree. SE had the premium phone market. Nokia is starting to gear up for this, but SE has the Pxx series as well as the other phones series. The point of this thread was missed because the originator did not take the time to do a real comparison. The object of production is not to put all your eggs in one basket but to release them with new and successive versions. SE can match Nokia phone by phone, but they are going after different markets, and this will appeal to different buyers. Not to mention that Nokia released the 6680. My wife just got one, nice phone but I would not give my z800 away to get one. Another point is that SE and Nokia have faithful followers. There are people that will not change no matter what. They know this, so what they are doing is trying to snatch a new customer here and there. They are just trying to maintain market share in a saturated market.

Strange that the moderators remove posts but they don't close this pitiful thread.
Sad, sad, sad.

kinda pointless thread... the discussion is going here, there and prankly everywhere... well any weiz since this thread is goin nowhere, just wana know why those who own a k750 upgrade their k750's f/w??? i mean, ive read from one thread that the new f/w reduces the video quality... what's new with the new f/w???
@cornholio 666... i saw from your earlier threads that u think that having a fone like this or the likes is only for frontin??? guess what, i myself dont think bringing a 2 or 5 mpx cam daily is practical, nor do i think having to bring another ipod like mp3 player to be a necessity for daily driving or walking... and i don't even think a fone, an mp3 player and a 2-5 mpx cam would be cheaper than buying a k750 or just simply imagine the weight you'd be carryin in your pocket..... so think about that.. for me a k750 or the likes is a necessity.. it's just gotta be owned by a person who knows to actually use it wisely... or if someone thinks those fones are just for show, then probably they're of the same age as my 70 yr old dad...

@BJ
I agree..... Phones with cams, Vid, MP3, BT, IR, Mem cards, ect... are not for frontin. There is alot of use for those who need all the perks.
I personally will not buy a phone without the features mentioned above. It would be pointless... I don't want a phone for merely for making calls. Give me all the functionality I can get. And I'll buy it.

No I said that some people buy the latest phones to show off even if the phone is an average phone or a poor phone. there was no mention of the K750 or of its features. i can only guess that you assumed i meant the k750, which i did not. i like a good phone with lots of features because it saves me and lots of other people money, instead of buying a phone, an mp3 player, a digital camera, an fm radio...and i'm sure it saves on batteries too.
