You forget that many Nokia phones are network, country etc. specific. There are quite a few crap nokias I notice as i browse through this cpw mag, sure there are some top ones but they're only a few. considering nokia are a more established company, larger, etc. then they have a 'right' to release many more phones, with high specs. but even if there is a 3:1 ratio of phones from nokia to sony ericsson, the specs are the same. so nokia may release three two megapixel phones, and sony ericsson may release just one, the sony ericsson phone is still as good or better than any of the three nokias released.
it all comes down to who is bigger, who has more support, more market share. sony ericsson don't want to waste money in releasing loadsa new phones that won't sell, they concentrate their expertees on a model at a time. so even though nokia may have hundreds of phones out there, the sony ericsson phones, not in ratio but in comparison of technology and capabilties, are still right up there at the top!

Can't be 6:1.
SE have 17 if not 18 phones for release this year so Nokia cannot possibly have 102!
SE 2005 models :
J200
T290
K300
Z800
K600
V600
J300
D750
K750
W800
K608
J210
Z520
S600
W600
+ 2, maybe 3 new announcements in September.

Benq-Siemens is coming with 35 new phones this year! The markets are hardening! But S-E is not the looser! I think the looser will be the bricket phones i.e. over 100g weight.

You are right buddy.Siemens have already overtaken SE a few months back ! And now they are consolidating their position.I expect Alcatel to overtake SE too before the end of the Year after the K750i fiasco. We only can hope SE will eventualy learn from its mistakes :-(

Nokia are genrally crap at the moment, exept for the communicator phones, which i think, better the iMATE JAM and XDA2i etc..etc.. but nokia seem to be coming to their senses, that their phones are ugly, and making new sleek designs, might give them more respect!!

You know what buddy, I agree with you on this one :-) Unfortunately it looks like the rest of the world is not on our site :-( HINT : Look at the value of the Nokia shares over the last month or so - is that 15+% up or are my eyes misleading me ;-)

out of the 4 phones released, most are repackaged phone. (quite embarassing really). se did terribly in Q1. then the of buggy K750 fiasco. And with these kind of phones announced, there is really nothing to look forward to for se fans.
K608 is exactly the same as K600 (except the plastic casing). This repackaging is so pathetic that even Nokia cannot beat this.
S600 is just S700 without memory slot. Is this progression or regression?

lol Pathetic...s600 is destined to a different segment, just like the other phones, fact that you deliberatedely ignore
k750 a fiasco??? k750 is selling like hotacakes all over the world, it has the favour of both critics and buyers, it has the best camera in the market. Yeah, some have bugs, but unlike nokia now every single person can update their firmware at home with the provided cable...no more bugs then.
One hast to be really narrwonminded fanboy to ignore k750 is a major breakthrough from SE - first camera phone that can produce real photo quality. A powerfull small and ligh phone, with great video and music player, radio and an fabulous camera for a phone...yeah, itīs a fiasco |

never said K750 is not a good phone. With the kind of bad publicity it is getting, it sure lost a lot of potential. maybe it OK for you to buy a phone which can only be used confidently without crashing after the next firmware update 1-2 months after you bought it. Well, I can only say you are a very forgiving and tolerable to whatever piece of SE crap sell to you. You can have most advance tech but if it is unreliable, it is still piece of junk.
S600 is target at different segment. So? Why take out the essential memory slot which effectively cripple the phone in terms of capability. 6681 and 3230 are targetted at different segments. Do Nokia take out the memory slot for 3230?

most people i know here have k750 without bugs...when i buy it, it will have a decent firmware - July...
my k700 also had some minor problems when i bought it, right after it was launched, but soon the problems were corrected, and itīs been working fantastic since 1 year ago
You use the expresion "SE piece of junk"..so, t610 (i had it before the k700), k700 and k750 are all pieces of junk because some early bugs in some units???? You need treatment
s600 will be cheaper than 3230, so what stupid comparation is that??? stupid would be making a smartphone without memory expansion - and stupid is having A MP3 PLAYER with MONO SOUND, like the 3230 - you seem to forget this...pity...SE phones with mp3 playing capability were always and are always STEREO
