i would be much more content with a k750i in a T610 case |

How many more times does it need to be said. The T610 did not have better build quality over the K750i - the reason it didnt creak much was because it had an aluminium coated case.

Thats exactly why I would prefer it in a T610 case... so it wouldn't creak as much. I guess that extra coating helped out a lot to make it at least feel like a top-end handset. Someone earlier said that samsungs use good quality plastic- i agree. I used to have a samsung c100- which was solid, where everything fit well and didnt feel like an empty hollow matchbox in some areas (and its a lower range handset).
Looking at the back of the k750i now- im wondering why they even bothered to jazz up the back of the phone like a camera with moving lens cover etc....
It would have been much nicer and more comfortable to have it less in your face and flat like the v8 SLVR camera.

well, something has to give. The more functions you have the heavier the phone. To compensate for weight, manufacturer reduces the thickness of plastic or uses very lightweight ones.

The lense cover was actually a selling point for me. The camera on the K750 is probably its major selling point over anything else imo, so i expect that many people will be intrested in protecting the 'lense'. Intresting to see in the W800 a less bulky cover - thats preferable. |

But thats the whole point. Because the C100 (a really really really bad phone IMO) is such a low range handset, the phone is much easier to manufacture and of course will feel more solid.
The K750i packs a lot of technology into such a small phone, and with such a high specification camera its only natural its more fragile.

@raj : How much you paid for it ? Do you find the ear-piece volume while making calls enough when compared with K700 ? |

I could personally name a couple of hundred people that are absolutely extactic about this phone. I could also point to loads of threads in several forums with people displaying the same.

Exactly. Its always the vocal complaining few that you read about. The ones who are happy with their phones are too busy playing with and using their phones to make a big song and dance about it.
The phone is an excellent bit of kit, it might creak but then it is plastic. The plastic on my car creaks and moves, but the build quality is great. The build quality of the k750i is maybe not quite as "compact" as the T610 but its certainly better than the K700 and that was OK.
If you have/had a K700 and are ahppy with it then don't hold off buying the k750, its on another level! |

You are right, I'm that happy with my phone that I keep forgetting to tell people how good it is.
So here goes.....
It's great, does not squeek or creak or anything else. Camera cover is great, battery life is great and well it really is just great.
Just returned to SE (last one was a P800 I think or maybe T68) and I'm glad I ditched my Nokia 6600 for this phone. 1gig memory card, loads of music, good camera and plenty of space to store eeverything.
I've already dropped my phone onto a ceramic tiled floor and no problem, no scratches and no squeeks.

the k 750 is built better than k 700..the coming apart is kinda good...it takes the impat of the shock form the phones interior.just like most nokia phones do on falling...portects the harware from violent shocks...and bout p series..where is that MEGAPIXEL CAMERA?????????
mine fell 10 times..its still going good.. |

So, in your opinion, SE should make all phones aluminium to keep moaners about creaking quiet ?
That would push the phones overall cost up much higher.
I was using my K750i alot today, and purposefully took notice of how much creaking my phone made. It creaked a little, mostly when i pressed the right softkey, or opened / shut the camera shutter, but nothing really noticable and far far far better than my K700i which creaked quite a bit.
