I'd go for the K750 too for all accounts: Camera, physical profile, memory, and everything nice.

I'll go for Laffen's Bank Account Seriously, maybe the K750 will be the BEST choice here . . .

The document you quoted was written in 2001. Nowadays many digital cameras are using CMOS (including high-end DSLR). Therefore CMOS can also take good pictures if it is of good quality.

But its a popular subject which applies to many people - go for what out now or wait a little longer for something better.
It comes as no suprise to me that this thread continues to grow, because theres so many people trying to decide whether to get a S700i, a K750 or wait even longer for the W800.
Even if some misguided people believe the S700i does take better pictures, i think it would still be a wise decision to prefer the K750 and W800 over simply because they support PRO Duo sticks, rather than limited 128mb MSDs.

etaab... afaik, there isn't any hardware difference between the K750 and the W800. Only a minor software change which makes the W800 easier to use as a music player. (I think the menu button is replaced with an instant music player button) That's about it.
Since the W800 will be marketed as a Walkman phone, it will come with the 512MB Pro Duo, and a slightly modified system. Easier to use playback controls (buttons are the same, just mapped differently) And a different set of included earphones.
That's what I heard anyway.

That's interesting... Does that mean that the W800 ability to use the mp3 player even if the phone is OFF is part of a different firmware? Does this also mean that If I use a W800 firmware on a K750 it will work the same?

Same here, but what concerns me about the W800 is the price. Surely packaged with a 512mb MSPD it'll be significantly higher in price over the K750.
Since there is very little hardware difference (possibly just the casing), wouldnt it be a wise decision for everyone to buy a K750 and a 512mb MSPD seperately ? thats what im intending to do, and im sure it'll be much cheaper than buying the W800.
As for the W800's media player, i dont think it'll be any significant advantage over the K750's. SE have said the K750 supports playlists, fast forward and reverse etc, so i dont see how the W800's will be much better apart from the bonus of the flight mode.
One thing that puts me off the W800, is numerous previews of the phone ive read from various sites which state the camera shutter is very weak, and could possibly be prone to breaking. We'll have to see when it comes out.
@ blackspot, Yes, and possibly yes to those questions.

W800 will get special headphones, right?

Yes, they're slightly different to the standard ones that come with the K750.
Tbh, i dont see much difference between them and the standard SE headphones. I think its just part of the Walkman branding to have Walkman headphones, rather than them being of better sound quality.
Again we'll have to wait and see when the W800 comes out.

I think it will have much better quality than the SE ones.

Id have to disagree, because the only difference i can see from pictures is that the W800's headphones go further in the ear.
Thats it, i doubt theres much more to be said about them. Now if SE included the larger headphones that cover the whole ear, there'd be more to discuss.

Reading all your views, i've come to a conclusion that it is better worth waiting for k750 for it's excellent camera, MSDP Support and form factor.
as you guys say that difference between k750 & w800 is minimal, i'll be going for k750.

After having looked at a lot of the posted pictures here and elsewhere:
- Both make good pictures
- K750 apparently has wider diafragm, which makes it excellent for night, and which creates the pictures with the short depth of focus (blurred background) so many people like.
- resolution of 750 is obviously better, so is sharpness
- colour reproduction is not all that different outdoors, indoors big difference
- both still are just 1,3/2 MP camera's which show noise. Most of the new digital camera's are way better.
If I had a s700 I wouldn't run for a k750 but wait for it successor. |

After reading all the posts I think that it is not just the sensors to be pointed out I guess the picture quality of a cam also depends on the image processing sw it is equipped with. K750 does take good pictures but that doesnt mean that u can compare it with any dedicated 2mp digi cam's.
