@chazzer - those last pics you posted are just thumbnails, i think u removed the url's preceding them....
After you upload an image at imageshack, there is a text box with the label "Hotlink for forums (1)" , just copy-paste the text in that text box directly here on Esato
i think these are the pics you intended to post -

Hi All,
I am like the original poster, I went from a K700i to a Samsung e720 for a few days and I'd just like to offer my own opinions and possibly answer some of the questions posted on this thread.
First: Things i miss coming from a long line of SE phones (t39, T68i, T616, T637 and K700i)
- Menu system as you see i've come very familar and come to really like all the customizability of how the phone feels and looks (themes and quality).
- I definitely like the sound quality of the k700i, the sounds on the k700i any all other SE's i've used seem to be more rich and full, this e720 sounds muddy in comparison
- Easy BT connections for everything, especially MS outlook
First impressions of the e720
Pros:
- Feels very well built, spaced out nicely and not big or heavy.
- Very sharp and nice contrast in the internal screen and very very nice external OLED (one of the best selling points for me) I would say its more of a tie (though Samsung has more colors, hard to tell the diff)
-Calls connected fast and no lag in picking up calls like the k700i which some times i would have to wait 3-4 seconds before the other party can hear me.
- I thought the battery may have been weak but doesn't appear that way, with 3 bars, I have played with it for many many hours before the bar went down 1, but the rest seems to go down faster. Need more time to give a full comment, but seems like it can last a good 2-3 days which is very similar to my usage with the k700i
- BT seems to work very nice, can transfer data and any other file (DOC, PPT, etc..) and it connected to my computer quite nicely, maybe even a bit faster than my k700i.
- Nice touch with the MP3 player which can play the songs w/o opening the phone
- Picts seem pretty good and nice touch to be able to take the pictures w/o opening the phone for self portraits (big PLUS for me at least)
Cons:
- Don't like the menu after using SE for so long and the enter key from the idle menu is for WAP where i'm used to it being for menus
- No software to connect to MS outlook, says Widesync, but got pulled due to problems with XP with SP1 and SP2. W2k and XP w/o SPs worked fine, but that was before i got the phone and i can't even find a copy of the software now.
- cannot upload games via bluetooth, must dl it via wap. I know there are workarounds for the d500 which you can dl it via bluetooth, but for now that method does not work with the e720. Details here: http://315.fiberworld.nl/d500/
- no speaker phone or soundmate included, though you can play the songs and it will play back on the ear piece, though not as loud and crisp as the k700i's speaker on the back, its still decent and will do the job even when closed.
again, this is just my opinions, so in conclusion, i am at a mixed decision wheather it was a wise move, I always loved the look for the e715 which drove me to buy this phone, however if it had SE's menus and a speaker phone, it would be a perfect fone in my opinion. One last thing, since i'm in NA, if it would have been quad band or had a NA version with 850, it would be great!
comments? questions? help for MS Outlook and games? please post!

I have to say it is a good phone, and I think my next phone will have to be the future P series, as I've got the P910, and love it, so I'm gonna hold out for the PX.
@K4mIk4zE (or however you write it).
Thanks for that tip, I'll try to remember that next time!
@all,
This was a good phone at the time, but now it has fallen behind, so I wouldn't get this phone anymore, but when I got it, it was top of the line.
Thanks - Charlie
PS: Max video record length is an hour, (dependent on memory)

Excellent! Congratulation on purchasing the phone! It's my dream phone because the most important feature to me in a phone is the video recorder and the screen. Both are amazing! If only would have cif recording!
I only hope the K550i will have cif video recording, if not it will be a VERY tough decision which one to get. By the time the K550i will be on the market, the E720 will be much cheaper and newer firmware. The video recorder and excellent screen sucks me towards the E720, this phone absolutely made me loose my mind! But the memory card support and radio rumored on the K550i make me go for the Sony Ericsson model. Plus the K500i is a great phone, lots of features which i use a LOT with great customization and i got used to it so a phone from Sony Ericsson would be a little more confortable. What are your suggestions ?
Please PLEASE post more videos, both links expired and i want to see more videos made with this phone. The longer the better. |

Why not you buy a Samsung E730?
It has 1.3 MP camera instead of 1 MP of E720.
